That's BS (and I don't ride F One). It happened to just a few and the brand has organized a replacement part for the defective products. At least the customer service is efficient, isn't it what a customer should be concerned about???

Lately I had a warranty claim on a Slingshot product. Unfortunately I cannot say the Australian importer was any good to solve the problem....

didn't they replace the broken part on the chicken loop?

Anyways F1 kites are nice, the bars do suck though...

They did replace the chicken loop but they didn't do anything about the broken bar ends. According to Slingshot it is "just cosmetic"....

Can't see what's wrong with the F-One bar though apart the hard bar end which could dent a surfboard. Otherwise it's pretty clean design, simple clamcleat, nice grip. Then the QR whether you like it or not it still works fine.

the F1 QR and loop in general is on a par with the 'best' waroo's bar from 2009/10

Cheap and nasty and designed to fail.

No good about the bar but I guess they have the final say.

To livit you need to do your homework it isn't a defective part its the actual bar the ends snap off , I don't bs about safety, a local snapped both his bars with his hands like it was a stick, after I made him aware of the issue, and if it was bs m8 the f1 importers are sending out free bars for the Hell of it, put y money where y mouth is ill have a carton on it

How many has actually snapped? Most of my friends ride this kite and never had the issue. I think F-One just does the right thing by changing all of them thus not taking any risk....just as Ozone does with their leaking bladders/valves on all of them 2011 products. Good to see that the brand does the right thing..

Again mate you need to do y homework, m8 will only send out a bar which have been reported , if my mates were using this bar is get them to check it, if you look at the bar where the steering lines attach you'll se a pvc coating over the aluminum this is where the salt water is getting trapped and rotting the aluminum you'll feel a slight lump, get them to try and snap it with their hands, that's what we did to both bars and both broke very easily, how many have broke don't know and don't care as long as nobody gets hurt,

I ride B5's.
No problem so far whatsoever with either kites or bar.
I happen to like the bar. Never even tried the QR though, not even for testing (I know I know but I ride without donkeyDick)

I switched to f one after 10 years with slingshot , I actually ride an rpm and a badit 5. They are very similar but the f one is a far better kite in the sub 18 knot range .

Anyway ss pissed me off by convincing me that my kite colour had run by leaving salt water on it, after years of good customer service through andy I couldn't get a straight answer out of ss, hence the switch to f one . Anyway enough about customer service all I can say is if there is a defect in the standard f one bar it will be all over there web site and a recall will be underway .

I'm asking if this is an official defect or some one off events , anyone that knows the f one rep Please confirm the facts . Thanks

The Bandit 4 Airlght bar was not anodised and lead to the breakages due to corrosion,

The Bandit 5 Airlight bar is anodised so should not break as it should not be effected by corrosion.

I have both and never broken. (but definately worth checking if you own a first Airlight bar.)
