Read a lot of interesting stuff re Nova (the original) and Crossbow (licenced by Nova designers) Anyone tried the 2 to compare.
What about prices
Is this the end for normal LEI kites[}:)]
Should I get my old foil back out (seems people are into hang time now!)

i too am interested in the nova, also done a bit of reading but am looking other opimions on the kite.

when i first started kiting the characteristics of the foils and the way they flew amazed me but liked bits from the lei type as well. to have a kite with a mix of both seems perfect to me.

havent tried it yet but found out today that they are being sold over east thru a company called Caromav. has some 12m and 9m but no 15m. $1999.00 for the 12 and $1899.00 for the 9 gst and delivery included.

my concerns are with the construction. are they tough like the airush or is it gonna tear soon after its been out on the water. heard of a horror story regards to the crossbow. first outing in a comp and tore on its first crash and was never flown again in the comp spite it being repaired. you gotta wonder why?

Just received the first Nova 12m to try it so I'll let you know when I've had it out.
Doesn;t seem to have as much rigging/bridles as I expected.

Hey Eray,

just thought you might want to know that the Crossbow 9m was fixed the next day and was ridden throughout the remainder of the comp.. It was the only kite that he rode for
the whole comp, including the reef trip on Thursday..

The construction is bloody good, just like previous models, they have really only changed the shape. The damage was minor and the repair cost was only $55.

The rider got second in the final on the 9 and a Custom 138 with bindings and norts Norts got first on Co2 kites and a Custom 133...

Not bad for a blowout on the first day....

cheers

Hey,

Aside from pictures on the internet I have never seen the Nova, but what I do know is that the Crossbow / Nova designer (Bruno) after his initial design was paid by Neil Pryde to come back to Cabrinha and keep developing the Crossbow. It is pure speculation, but I would assume that with the original designer on the case the development would progress further and faster resulting in a better kite. No?

I also believe that the Australian price points of the two are almost identical.

Cheers
Justin

the nine yesterday looked like pure joy. It was definatly the kite of choice.
A perfect threesome, 30 knots plus, 9m crossbow, and Dale the nutter.
A joy to watch.
