G'day flyers!
Just thought this could be an interesting thread, I've been flying my Aero2 12 for a couple of years now and am looking into something new.... One mate has a Best Waroo 12, and another has a Flysurfer Psycho2 10 or 12 - one of them anyway!
So both dudes are boasting about their own kites, and are telling me that one's better than the other etc...
Just thought it would be great to hear some other's opinions...

One thing I keep thinking of is that with the Foil's, wouldn't having so many more attachment points in the bridle make that design a more stable kite?

Ride safe, and Fly!

Hey BoDiddly, great to see that blues legends kite too!
Foils vs Bow kites is a new version of the age old classic Foils vs LEI.
I've been using the Flysurfer Speed 10 for a year now, quite often alongside locals on Crossbow 12's.
I started using Flysurfers after several expensive repairs and bladder replacements on my 4 line tubes, and frustration with how hard they were to relaunch and self launch/land. So far so good, no expensive repairs, almost %100 relaunch (I've swum in maybe 3 times) easy launch and land.
The Bow's have very similar low end but are much less punishing to use in the top end. Bow's also self launch and land pretty well.
as for
"One thing I keep thinking of is that with the Foil's, wouldn't having so many more attachment points in the bridle make that design a more stable kite?"
Yep, but it's because the bridle allows the kite to form the optimum shape, with a proper airfoil section, and a lighter structure. It's also gonna last longer than the bow because it's spreading the load through all that bridle rather than using a rock hard leading edge with a few bridle points.
Check out the new Flysurfer kites, the Pulse and particularly the new Psycho3 which is just about to be released. Should be huge improvements over the Psycho2, more depower, faster turning, better safety.
Have your mates let you try their kites? Just remember the Waroo is the latest and the Psycho2 is a 2 year old design.

I was also looking at the same options a few months ago. I got the chance to ride a 7M flysurfer speed in about 28-33 knots and i couldn't believe the power it had (i am 105kg!) and i really liked it but i am still pretty much a beginner and a few times in gusts i couldn't hold the edge or stop myself without dragging my ass in the water. I also ditched the speed a few times and relaunched it twice successfully (with the hot launch 10 meter drag foils give you) however on the third relaunch i did something wrong and got some water in the kite. I am sure it was my fault but i got the kite to relaunch but it was all over the shop and crashed again and filled up more :( So i have mixed feelings about the foils, my mate loves them and he has no dramas at all with them. he is about to buy psycho3 when it comes out.

So anyway i tried a takoon bow and hated it so was getting very confused then tried a switchblade and it rocks. From the moment i launched it i could ride without any hassle. I bought the switchie a few months ago and with the wind being so crap lately have only ridden a few times but am now carving turns, 180s, riding toeside, doing a few jumps and riding the in surf. Sweet. Relaunch is too easy as well and launching etc is easy.

Thanks for the feedback guy's!

I think it's definately a case of trying to demo each design to see what I like the best! however I think I have only seen like 1 Flysurfer in the air over the last 12 months or so...

Happy riding dudes!
