I have a 9m Waroo which I find is a great kite. It has got a huge windrange but I need something for the lighter days - a 14m. I am not interested in unhooked moves and prefer cruising, nice jumps and waves. Which kite has similar characteristics to the 9m Waroo and is relatively fast and light on the bar for a 95kg guy like me???
Sven,i too weigh 95 Kg and just bought a 14 m North Rebel, i dont think you would find a better wave riding kite than this, jumps great, turns well, very stable and heaps of depower. The only downside is there are many hundreds of them on backorder, try your local dealer though. It has exceeded my expectations and all my mates that have tried it also.
Id go the new 07 Waroo 13. If you love the 2006 model 9, well sure case your gonna love the new ones.

Thanx for your opinions guys! There is one thing I don't like with the Waroo which is the bridle - it gets caught quite easily when the kite crashes... I definitely prefer "simpler" designs. Has anybody tried a variety of 14m SLE kites and can tell me about the differences/feel?
Hi Svenster,
You say you don't like bridle systems but are after a bow/sle?
This is not possible.
It seems what you are after is something like a Rebel or a Tribal.

Svenster,
I'd recommend you try a naish boxer sle... fantastic in waves, awesome air, and incredible wind range... and good price to boot. I've got a 12m (officially 13-30knots but i reckon more like 15-35knots). also available in a 15m (8-26 knots).
Try the boxer sle!![]()
I did yesterday.I am 65kg was still out there having a
ball on a 12mtr in nearly 30knots.Huge air and hang time,
can't wait to play today.
Cheers
Is there any dealer left in Perth who stocks Naish?
All you guys seem to have 12m - I want a bigger gap to complement my 9m. It should be at least a 14m, from what I have heard some of the bigger bows/flat kites are not that great. Has anybody actually tried some different 07 14m models?
Bow kites that come in a 14.
SS link - Windforce and choicey
Airush flow- Windforce and airborn
North Rebel - Wsp
Cabrinha contra - Wsp
Naish shockwave and boxer sle - Sos
Rrd type 8? not sure about this - Sos
picks of the bunch seem to be the flow, rebel and boxer sle.
There's the GK Sonic 14m too, (which I have and love) but you will have to wait a bit longer if you want the '07 model.
Hey Svenster

15 to 35 knot hey on a 12 meter! What a classic! Give it another year or so and there will be kites out there with worn bridles and lines flying 12 meters of sail in over 30 knots? Now that will be interesting when sh!t hits the fan.
Couple of considerations when choosing your kit.
1. a sle , bow or flat kite when utilizing the full depower turns and responds with crap performance no matter what spin people put its an inherit problem related to the flatter kite shapes angle of attack in the wind window.
2. large 16 meter sle, flat or bows in low winds under 12 knots again turn like a turd and from comments made on forums the c kites are still the better choice.
3. Try before you buy.
Not bashing the sle, bows or flat kites as I fly them myself. Just trying to keep it real. Personally I think the rebels the best on a somatics point of view (the view someone that’s asking about what kite is looking from) as I don’t fly any rebels.
Cheers
Personally I would go with the 12m SLE and keep the 16 you have.
Jason
Hi Jason
Thanks for your reply.. I know where I can get a 15m SLE but not a 12.(Low stock and I can get the 15 relatively cheap). How do you think I would do keeping my 12 C Boxer and getting the 16 SLE?
The 06 Sonic has short bridles and they don't get hooked up at all. Hopefully the 07 model will stay with short bridles.
