I've asked before but hopefully a few more people have tried the Instinct and I might get a bit more feedback.
Anyone got any opinions on the Instinct and how it compares to the Waroo?
Being in Geraldton and no-one in WA even selling the Insticts, the Waroo's tend to be ruling the skys as far as bows go here.
The only time I've seen the Instinct was when the guys making them were test running the protos here but they looked to perform, seemed well put together and nice and simple.
Any feedback appreciated, thanks,
Brett
have the same question!
I have been using Ozone foil kites for kite snowboarding and they were good. I have also been flying a coupple of ozone paragliders. Overall good quality on their products. With ozone beeing in the paraglider industry they have a very good knowlage about aerodynamics....so... With the new instinct out I am very interested to try it out! Anyone out there that have tried it??
Erlend
There doesn't seem to be that much info about on the instinct in oz, which is a shame, as it is a nice kite. Construction can't be faulted.
I have had 4 sessions on an 11m instinct now, in conditions ranging from gusty 25kn and choppy as hell to smooth 15kn...so I'm starting to get a feel for it.
Unfortunately, I haven't ridden a waroo. I've been riding fuels for the last 3 seasons, so I prefer the C type grunty feel...keep that in mind when reading my comments.
I did do a pretty thorough side by side test between the Instinct 11m and the North Rebel 12m. These kites are pretty similar in a lot of ways.
To be honest they are both really nice kites, felt comfortable on both immediately. There would be no wrong choice between these two kites imo. Basically I liked the feel of the instinct better, it seemed to have a more direct pull to me. The rebel probably turns a tad faster and its bar is probably a bit less fussy (if you can get the depower cleat to work which in my experience of norths they rarely do!!!). However, while the instinct bar is not perfect it is more robust than the rebels imo.
The instinct has superior stability and is easy to unhook, it also has floater jumps if thats what your into. I have never pointed as far up wind on any kite as I have on the instinct.
These are just opinions, I hope they help.
