Looking for some feedback on the Noise kites. Have ridden the 10m and was impressed but have not ridden the 8m or 6m.
Weigh 80kg and ride both ocean/flats with surfboard/twin.
Is there enough overlap between the 6m and 10m?
Too much overlap on the 8m and 10m?
My current small kite is the 7.5m KahoonaV2 which I could keep or sell. Is the 6m pretty close in range to the 7.5m Kahoona?

Woodys Kite Surf SUP are WA agents for BWS NOISE kites.
The widespread rumours that the NOISE is significantly under rated when comparing with other kites is quite true.
Many have suggested add 2M to the size to of the NOISE to get comparative to what you would expect of another kite. IMO its more like 1 to 1.5M. So the 6M would cover your 7.5M Kahoona as pretty much the equivalent.
So Yes. You could keep your Kahoona and buy a larger NOISE for lighter days.
6M & 8M NOISE kites would overlap quite a lot so (unless you are really fussy about sweet spots) you would be well advised to go the 10M NOISE as your lightwind kite.
At 80kgs the bottom end of the 10M NOISE would be about 11knots on your surfboard - 13kts on your TT. I havent any experience yet of top end on the 10M. Remember that top & bottom end is different for everyone. Im taking an average of reports Ive had back from many demo riders of all shapes and styles but still cannot be sure it will be exact for you.
The overlap is another matter - Im confident in that part of my advice.
Best thing is to demo all options. The NOISE will ride quite differently to your Kahoona so you are sure to prefer one over the other.
Lot to be said too for having all kites in your quiver the same style ??
Demo is the only sure way.
We have all sizes on demo here in Perth - if thats of any use ? Any BWS agent anywhere should have them on demo as well. AND same price as on-line.
Thanks for all the feedback everyone. Just to clarify, I'm in the USA ... not a lot of discussion on these kites around here. I rode the 10m at REAL Kiteboarding in Cape Hatteras. They are the only retailer with kites in the USA ... the only way to demo a kite (and they make you pay ... but that's another discussion).
I really liked the 10m for what I rode it. I also noticed that the relaunch is not quite as instant as some other kites, as someone on here had said, it is not quite as happy on it's tip. Probably because of the flatter center section. No biggy though.
After riding the 10m it could be my biggest kite, the low end you guys are quoting seem accurate based on my limited experience.
I also agree with a quiver of the same kites for consistency. But, I can't buy a set of 3 kites.
So, the dilemma ... 6/10 or 8/10.
8/10 Pros:
- 90% of my kiting is covered.
- Get to ride the 8m which seems regarded as 'THE' kite in the lineup
8/10 Cons:
- 10% of my riding (nuking days) on a different kite, kahoona7.5 or waroo7
- Lot of overlap maybe? Which kite to ride?
- Gotta carry three kites to cover wind
6/10 Pros:
- All winds covered with 2 kites
- Familiar kite feel
- Easy decision on which kite to ride
6/10 Cons:
- Not much overlap? Go from over powered 10m to under powered 6m?
- Miss out on the 8m, the sweet-spot kite for my winds.
For those with these kites, can you switch from the 10 to the 6 without also going to a bigger board? Comfortably?
How much overlap between the 8m and the 10m? A ton?
Is there a 7m in the works? Now a 7m/10m quiver would be perfect it seems.
Unfortunately I won't get to ride these kite again without shelling out more cash.

I don't ride these kites, but I am a big believer in basing your quiver around the one best size for you. So In your case you say the 8m best suits your main riding conditions, then that size is a no brainer, perhaps have a bigger quiver of boards to milk the most out of it. Then get either a bigger or smaller kite based on what type of winds you are most likely to encounter the most.
I ride one kite 90% of the time under this strategy.
I like Bennies thinking but it does end up meaning a 3 kite quiver with Big & Small getting little use. Great way to go if you can afford it though.
I wouldnt worry too much about a wide crossover of the 6M to the 10M. Crossover would be pretty sweet ie not going too over to too under powered. Just probably pay a bit more attention to when you come in for the change.
The 8 mtr is my favourite kite,I did exactly what you are doing - I bought the 10mtr first then the 8mtr and now I have the 6mtr too. All great kites - I can use the one board with any of the kites no drama. All kites to me feel the same powered up just a varied turning speed for each - THIS is the bueaty of these kites - easy transitioning -. The 8mtr I believe is the best kite, so personally I would be grabbing the 8 & 10 .. although I am 98kg , with your weight you will find yourself out more on the 6 & 8 I would think. Either way goodluck in which ever kite size and brand you choose.

Well I really wanted the 36/24/32 ... but, after lots of debate and demos I went with:
10m/8m
I have had 4m gaps in the past and am not a fan. I'll ride the 10m/8m 90% of the time. If too windy for the 8m I typically can drive south 40min and ride it there.
I've been waffling for a while, doing lots of demos, but kept coming back to the Noise. Saw the TEST TEAM Facebook post last night and that made up my mind. I was able to get on the team and take advantage of the deal.
Just placed my order minutes ago. I'll still try to pick up a 6m, ideally a lightly used one since I don't use that size much.
