A little while ago there was a tread by Andre raving the core nexus as a wave kite. In this thread he said he was riding his 7 in less than 15knots to which he was savaged,. Myself included.

However I now have to eat my words and apologize as he was right. I've been right a 7 and 9 for over about a year and the 9 is an average kite,.. but like Andre said, the seven is a miracle kite. I hardly use the 9 as the 7 covers most of its range.

My main reason for writing this though is yesterday went to do a downwinder yesterday, wind was strong when loading the car but dropped by the time we arrived at swannie. However, didn't have too much trouble, fair bit of looping but no real issues. So I was more than surprised to check the graphs after was saying 9 knots at 3pm. Even with a bit of variables with the meter, it definitely wouldn't have been above 15. Everyone else was on 9-11 and most after said they had trouble.

Therefore I am going to eat my words and apologize sincerely as Andre was right and I was soo wrong on this kite.

Thanks for the apology. I am glad you tested that for yourself...thats the only way to really know is by riding gear.

I actually messaged Rob Kidnie the other day the Core Team Rider for a chat and he is actually flying the Nexus 7m allot now. So I think that speaks loudly to the assumptions that the all rounder cant be a good wave kite as he is their full time wave riding guy.

The other kite I liked recently was the ROAM by Ass Rodeo it had nice timing on turns and good release at the top of turns. Tried the unicorn fabric also on the 10m in light wind against my 8m at the spot with Bonny. Def liked the light/fast turning and stability...prob the ROAM itself could be a tad gruntier in larger sizes. But the future is bright with lighter stronger materials on the horizon.

I have to say I have been using the 8m allot in marginal conditions around 14-15kn onshore its less responsive steers like a 8/9m has the power of more like a 9/10m and takes some input muscle. The 8m is my big kite lol..

But its a not a dik pulling competition even though I suspect moist of us have been in lockdown training none the less..

its just good to share some stoke we are on gear we like..Anyways cheers for the reach out Gazuki.
