3D printing a kite board

If it can be done with snowboards, it most certainly can with a kite board.

Funny. I just sussed out this ad on gumtree that offered 3d printed copied boards finished for $350. I thought it was a scam. Ended up they can't copy your board. they already need the file. I'd be interested to know if anyone can as well. I've had mates with the latest shaping machines that have said they can 'scan' a board. They can't. there is still an element of hand measurement to get the file on computer. It never ends up the same

This may not be true... I am pretty sure you can 3d scan any thing... We have one at my work and no hand measures are needed you just need a reference point.. From that it creates a cad file which I guess you could send to the 3d printer

Hi,

ive been 3d printing since early 90's. Doing product design.
Big parts cant be done yet. Expensive. Various Materials available, but not composites.

Making tooling is smarter idea.

Exciting area, but "news" shows like that snowboard show how Un realistic it is right now if you know whats going on.

I would like to have printer that prints " foam" in variable density. Then I would just v-bag on the composites.
