Sup guys...

I'm an intermediate rider...want to get into kiteloops/some unhooked riding

I know the obvious differences I.e. 4line/5line etc

Would like to know how these kites differ in terms of boosting, kiteloops, power delivery (feel), power size for size e.g. 9vegas vs 9C4 and lastly which would be better for a noob trying to unhook..

Shot!!

Lots of information already out there from other members:

Both of the kites you've mentioned some will argue (and I tend to agree) aren't 'true' c-kites, since one has a bridle; and the other has swept wing-tips + a supporting LE.

I used to own both C4 and Vegas at the same time both 2011 both same size 9. I would almost 90% at a time naturally reach for the Vegas when going to the beach.

My chart:
Vegas: Boosting 10 , Loop 8, Unhooked 9, Stability 10, hangtime 9, Bar Pressure Med light.

C4 : Boosting 6, Loop 8, Unhooked 7, Stability 8, hangtime 6, Bar pressure Med light

If I was to buy one now i would also consider RRD obsession 9. I have one now it is very sweet kite. Landing my all my loops with nothing to it.

RRD Obsession : Boosting 10, Loop 10+ , Unhooked 9, Stability 9, hangtime 9, Bar pressure light

Hope this review helps. good luck!

have ridden both, 12/9m vegas and 11m c4. vegas is a much faster kite then the c4 so is better for loops. more twitchy though when unhooking. i prefer the c4 for unhooking as its slower and less twitchy. if you want to improve your unhooked riding i would go the c4.

Hmm I rode Obsession in 2009 and 2010. The 2009 was a loop machine. The 2010 much less so. I read a test recently where they also said the old Obsessions looped better/more powerful. Besides that they loved the kite.

Why do you characterise it as 9 for UH - like C4 and Vegas? I mean it is not a kite that generate a lot of slack for passes etc ?? Do you mean the Obsession Pro C kite?

I have only tried a Vegas 12m 2010 one time. I pulled a lot unhooked. Tried the 2010 C4 several times in several sizes. Upwind was extremely good, boosting not to good but UH very good.

I dont think you can go wrong with either Vegas or C4. You could try to demo the Hadlow ID.
