Hi,
Looking at trading from a waroo to a Helix. Doesn't seem to be any reviews on this kite. Just wondering if anyone has any comments on this kite, changing from a standard leading edge to a Sigma shape.
Also what is the wind range of this kite i weigh 80kgs and have a 140 x 40 t/t. What is the real low end and high end limit.
Cheers
probably the best sigma kite made, fast turning and plenty of grunt and speed. low end way better than 09 helix. your weight on a 140 should see you riding in around 13-14 knots thru to 30, just drop the xtensions off if you need less power. they boost big. relaunch on the 2010 is very easy as they rounded off the corners. well constructed and one of the best bar setups. points that wear are trim line and the short line the pulleys run on, otherwise pretty bulletproof.
Hey,
Cheers for that, sounds pretty good. Also is the Naish bar the same for all size kites of do they differ in size.
Thanks
I have just chagned kites from a 12M switch blade 3, to a 10.5 helix. The Helix is a great kite with very responsive handling. However I did not receive the extension lines with my Helix. Can some one please ad some light on what the extensions are for, or was this an after thought from Naish.
my 10.5 bolt works very well except self launching, the knots catch causing the kite to roll out of control, Im going to try to claim warranty to day.
Extension lines give you a bigger arc, this means it can stay in the power zone longer. Come as standard with the kite. Ask you dealer.
I like to keep them on as much as possible, i prefer the smoother ride on longer lines. It basically equates to high wind, remove extensions, low-medium add extensions.
Has anyone flown the Helix and the Charger is there a big difference between these kites, is one a lot better than the other. Obviously the Charger not having the Sigma shape. But just in general.
Cheers
They both have light bar pressure & easy relaunch but that's about the only similarities. Helix is aimed at more freestyle/intermediate riders , Charger is more surf/beginner orientated. If you are a beginner i would grab a Charger over a Helix to learn on, if you can kite already get a demo on each and make up your own mind.
