They are exactly the same as 08 Lunacy.

I test rode the 136 a month or so back. I'm riding the 145 misfit now with boots so it felt a little funny riding with straps. It seemed to get me out of the water the same as the 145. IMHO its like a smaller version of the glide with more stick and pop. I 've ordered a 136 with the slingy binding inserts so hopefully i can give u better feedback when i get her.

What i really need to know is how it is in semi choppy conditions I will ride 70/30 ultra flat water/small chop and lumps. Thoughts?

It's not great in the chop, but then again it's not that bad!

i rode the first lunacy and really wasnt that impressed by it.. dont see why people fuss about it soo much... too square and flat, far better boards for slicks out there IMO...

Hi Sci,

I have an 2008 you can borrow. I don't use it much, so you keep it for a while to get a few sessions on one. send me a PM. I think the 08 - 09 are very simular.

I agree, I had an 08 Lunacy hands down the worst board I have ever owned. too square, too flat etc..... woeful in chop.

This is not what I wanted to here ;( Though the majority of this feedback is based on the 08 model. Anyone like it?

I was set for this board now I am not so sure.

I ride a 129 and am very impressed by it. Rides upwind much better than my previous slingy sx. As far as chop goes I haven't had any problem but I try to avoid riding in anything too choppy, hence I didn't buy a board for those conditions.

I haven't ridden many other boards so can't comment on that but overall it's a good board for me and rides very similarly to the 08 lunacy.

OK well this year the board has very slightly more rocker.
Have to say if your riding in chop where it is really close together then I prefer the sx. As I tend to get spray off the front..
However if the chop is a bit further apart I don't have this prob..
I rode the 129 all last year and loved it to bits, this year started on the 129 but now riding the 132 as easier to land blind on and you can land slower without dropping off the plane..
I gotta say done heaps of kite loops last year and board is so strong..

Well it is classified as a 'HARDCORE FREESTYLE' board..... Designed by Ruben, for his own use!

soo what your saying ADEN is ruben rides weak and can get away with a mc donalds tray? hmmmm

but seriously yeh boards not the greatest thing out there, rather spend the coin on something decent. flat rocker = less predictable pop, harder landings hence heavier on the knees.

noww bindings + bigger board = more resistance against kite = more pop + ability to unhook in stronger winds due to better edge control and security

smooth rocker little bit more than standard ktieboards = more predictable ride with good pop and soft landings, must be stiff for the pop side.. = JOY

all this equates to a sweet ride

I do agree however flatter rocker = planing earlier which = use in lighter winds. Not all of us can get those constant strong winds u guys get in WA.

I'm saying that the board is harder to use/harsher than the average board, like as if you were using a McD tray!!

Its not harder to use at all.... It is just simply a crap board.

Aden : Am i right in thinking you ride an 09 and probably rode an 08 prior ?

If so do yourself a favour and try something else.......

I perservered with my 08 for almost two months simply because i had paid 8 or 9 hundred for it and it was supposed to be great for aggressive hardcore freestyle.. pfffft............ IMO freestyle is NOT wakestyle and the Lunacy is more a wakestyle board ( allbeit a crap one) .which only really even remotely works in super butter flat water.

Prior to this I rode Underground FLX's & Cardboards both in 06 -07 both were better boards than the 08 Lunacy. I am now riding a Cardboards and a Nobile ( MArk Shinn model ) again both these boards **** all over the 08 Lunacy ( cant talk about the 09 as I have not ridden one AND WILL NOT. )

I still have my 08 Lunacy in the garage and not even my mates want to ride it and some of them are riding boards from 06 -07.

Says something doesnt it ?

sounds like someone has a problem, OK we get the point that you dont like it. Doesnt mean other people wont. If you ride most flat water and are into wake and free then there's nothing wrong with it. I quite actally like the board. I hop onto other boards and they feel sloppy. Yes its square looking, but that makes it abit more aggressive. I would recommend the board, but i would also say try it before buying, because everyone rides differently. Hence everyone likes different boards

I agree different strokes for different folks........ but alarm bells start ringing when many start saying the same thing. The board was released with quite a bit of who ha but in my opinion ( and in many others...... it never delivered )

ADEN : If the board works for you thats great if you are happy with it stick with it.
But dont just ride it because it is a " Lenten Signature Model " and assume it must be good. " thats how marketing works on impressionable youngsters "

Try something else when you get a chance ( something appropriate for your size and weight ) dont just borrow any randoms board.

There is a thew 08 boards in whyalla and the guys love them for riding a majority of flat water - wake style. I find that they are a verry agresive board that needs to be riden fast they edge and pop extreamly well and are verry forgiving in the landings and they dont break or crease as we have seen on a lot of other boards.

The board does have disadvantages, they are crap in bad chop, surf or underpowered riding the lack of a handle makes it harder to carry but i will always keep one of these boards in my quiver for when the conditions suit.
