hi,

due to my bad back I was firstly thinking abt Bandit Dos, but after reading reviews on Sport2 it seems to be the kite I'm after with very low bar pressure.

BUT, now I need to decide which one to get as my biggest kite; either 13m or 11m?

I weigh 80kg and have good kiting skills so I can get planing early with small kites relative to my friends - at least compared to some =)

So do I need the 13m or is it so slow that I don't get any benefit out of it compared to 11m which is naturally somewhat faster turning and therefore one is able to squeeze some low end that way. But can someone please give some feedback on these two kites, especially on low end wise please:

- turning
- flying speed
- upwind ability
- jumping in low wind (if there's such thing)
etc.

Pulling the trigger soon, so any info highly appreciated!!!

I'd go the 11, at 70kg I've been using a 9m Edge as my largest for a year now.

Don't take my word for it though, because I've never flown either of those kites.

hey kitehard i'd like to know your opinions on omg's questions. can you just reply to the forum?
I've heard you guys raving about the edge 11m in high winds but would like to know how it goes in the bottom end

OMG ..... before you pull the trigger take the 09 RX edge 11m for a spin. I am riding this kite in 15 knots and weigh 95 kilos. You might find the smooth power is alot kinder to your back also. Low down is considerably better than the 08 and the 08 was very good anyway.

Hi omg

I have rececntly bought the 11m 08 Sport 2, and i can vouch for the unbelievable lightness of the bar pressure. It's amazingingly light, yet the kite seems incredibly stable. The power feels very constant even in light winds through the harness. I personally can only compare it to the slingshot REV which i have in a 9m (and have flown in 7, 9 & 11), but I have found it eats up the gusts without you even feeling it and powering up is very smooth and easy on your back. Turning speed seems as fast or faster than the REV 9 surprisingly.
I am 58kg and have used it from about 9 knots. Even in really low wind it still flew reliably, got me up and going and when the wind really dropped off the kite barely luffed, and the wind window seemed wider than I was used to on the REV.

Although I can't provide a comparison of the two kites I reckon you are on a winner with the Ozone sport

thank you all for the feedback, I will actually get the 9 and 13meter. Have heard great things also on the 13meter so both the 11 and 13 should be awesome.
Can't wait to get on the water

Oh, and actually now thinking to get the 5 meter Light2 or Sport2 for strapless wave riding and for nuking days. Don't really know which one to get. I have also heard great things about the new Light 2009, but they don't make the 5meter which would've been the dope... Decisions, decisions.

OMG

It might be too late now but definatly get the 13m. I upgraded from the 06 instincts this year and the bar is very light. the only bad thing i can say about the kites is that they lack low end power but have the best top end power so get the biggest kite you can for you light wind power.

Hope that helps

Steve
