G'day all,
Wondering at all, if anyone has tried all of the following three kites

. Peter Lynn Venom 16Mtr
. Slingshot Turbo Deisel
. GK Sonic 11Mtr

I am sussing out before i decide what to buy, but just want to check the SS Turbo Deisel against the performance of the other two.. i Have tried a 16mtr Venom thanks to Lachie Bead, and am very impressed! Just want to case all my options before showing the green Y'all.

Cheers

Turbo Deisel wont be out for another month or two in Aus.
If yo come to Brighton Beach in Brisbane this Saturday you can try the Sonic and the Venom. They are totally different to fly and both will have thier advantages so you will just have to decide for yourself. If you got the Venom from Lach, he is also the GK distributer.

Hey revival got your message but did not get your number .
in the Sonic the 14 will be more like the Venom 16 for range.
The differences that I have noticed in GK and Venom is (11 Sonic 13 Venom)that they are actually quite simnilar in flying technique. The GK has even lighter bar pressure and is more stall sensitive and less feedback in the bottom end and is a bit quicker in the turns and has a less spongy feel .
Both are opposite in a LEI C kite at the bottom of the turn .You don't want too much bar pressure and want to balance off the c loop. They both like good kite and board speed and the Sonic develops a mad amount of apparent wind
GK will want to depower and crash if you lose it and let go of the bar ,venom stays up .Both have siilar sweet spot in their range.
Jumps are similar and very floaty ,being a bit quicker the Sonic will pop you up a bit quicker .
Self launch and landing of Sonic is quite tricky, launch of Venom can be tricky and takes a few goes to master landing is a cinch.
I have set up a Venom on the SONIC bar with similar depower when you let it all go.

hope this helps with those comparisons.

Cheers

Lach,

How do you think the 14m Sonic will compare to the 16m crossbow with regards to their bottom end? In your opinion what size LEI C-kites do you think the 14m will compare to? I'm looking at getting a sonic but I don't know if the 14m will be large enough for those lighter days. I'm about 88kg.

Cheers

hi

going on the performance of the 11 GK Sonic It is fun for me from 15 kts on a 150 mutant .I'd say the 14 will be fun from 12 kts .i'm 97 kg and I've been on all sorts of kites that are doable under 12 in the ocean and doable on flat glass in 10 but not epic fun.
hope this helps will report when they get here .i reckon this will be the size for big guys

Regards

Lach

Had the opportunity yesterday to fly the Slingshot Turbo Diesel 12m. The bar set up is awesome. It is so simple, functional and more importantly VERY LITTLE BAR PRESSURE! This is a must try if you are after this style of kite. I flew the Crossbow a while back and was appalled that they put this thing into production...Give Turbo Diesel a go, I think they arrive next week
