OK on the look out for a new 10 mtr wave kite for 2013, must be super fast even when depowered, or sheeted out.
upto now tried the 10 mtr Ozone REO, Wainman 10.5 Punch and while both are ok not as fast as I would like, any thoughts out there ?
Caution new Spitfire looks good but non in AU, also BWS, RRD etc
any help would be great

My Comments:
Well if speed I presume you mean turning speed then a BWS needs to be taken well and truly off your list.
I'd suggest a LQ envy, also there are some great reviews about the drifter, and if you want a truly fast turning kite the 9m wave, but not a 10m.
You REO is bloody fast turning kite mate, good luck finding one that is as fast if you found it too slow.
Never flown Reo, (can't wait but...)
have flown brand new
Envy (5, 6, 8, 9, 12)
BWS (12, 10, 8, 6)
Switch Method 12m
Epic Renegade (9 & 11)
Cab Drifter (9, 11, 13)
Cab switchie (6m)
& old
Cab Convert 7m
Rev 1 & 2 (9s&11s)
Cab switchie 6m(2008)
Drifter is fastest and nimblest by a country mile. it's the only kite I never even looked at cause I was too busy shredding the place, wouldn't have a clue what it looks like in the sky! Honestly a hard kite to beat.
Not saying it's the best down the line kite as I'm more sk8 park style but for zip, it's the winner.
Airush WAVE...by far the fastest wave kite i've tried this year. Try and get on a demo. Will be sending the 9m Back that way soon.
Add an Ocean Rodeo Razor to ur list of kites to demo.
Welcom to try my 10m some time when im back home.
You need to get some Religion!
Seriously, RRD have been making the fastest wave kites for about 10 years, and this year's is no exception.

I dont think you will find a kite that is superfast when sheeted out or depowerd, when the steering lines go slack, the kite wont steer so fast any more, this applies to any kite. you just have to change down to a smaller size, waveriding with a totaly depowerd kite just doesnt work so well appart from that all kites mentioned are fairly fast.
If you are up at kite stock there will be a range of kites to try.
I personally am using a wave kite that has power and is very fast at the same time, so lets me get away with a smaller size kite.
At 95kgs I have been on a 6m kite 70% of this summer and 8m the rest of the days in WA with an 11m out maybe twice
Ide agree most kites dont perform properly fully depowered, and not all kites have the same power good example 8mtr this years RPM is probably as powerful as the 10mtr RIO and the 10mrt BANDIT 6 has way more bottom end than both of them .
Still if you want a kite that turns when your riding towards it on a wave ,try the Bandit ,RPM , Veagas or perhaps Neo ,but in each kite if you want to compare turning and power range you may need slightly different sizes
George
Bandit 6
Try one, and then you will buy one,
had them for 2.5 years , 5 and 6, only dropped it due to my error , it has never fallen through slack lines or catching it down fast waves, turns when the lines are slack, ride it blindfolded, ive tried rally's , RMP's . Trx, park, not tried reo but heard the bottom end is crap, not good for Sydney but wouldn't be a problem where the wind blows and they certainly look fantastic in the sky; ozone CAT also looks fantastic this year. F one or ozone for me = reputation, build and after buy service is the best from these 2 brands, forget SS they lost it years ago, (I had them for 8 years and tried every kite they made).
Try before you buy, the guys at adventure sports will sort you out with demos
Firstly, you can use a good size smaller BWS kite in comparison to most other kites, so in practice a BWS isnt that slow at all.
Second comment I'd like to make. If you feel the need for a faster kite for waveriding, you could also consider to slow down your riding speed.
Adjust to the speed of the wave and there is hardly any need for steering the kite.
I have tried some of the recent wave kites from the big brands, Religion, Drifter, Wave, Lithium, Envy, Wainman, Cabo.....
My favourites were the Wave and Religion both fast turning and good bar pressure plus obviously drift very well. Wave has a bit more of an all round performance and has more jumping ability than the Religion. The Airush /lithium and also the One are very good as well, very good drift and fast turns, on/off power so you can dump it, light bar pressure. Envy is also good and very solid in the sky, perfect in the smaller sizes in strong winds, super solid build so a bit heavier which can hinder it in the lighter winds.
