Haven't tried them yet. I imagine that they would be alot like the previous Thorn but alot stronger. I ride the 06 Thorn and it's a great board. Everyone who has tried my board really really really like it. (even underground riders!) It has alot of pop, really sharp edge (and i mean REALLY sharp I guess thats why they call it a thorn), great for carving, very light board, points upwind like a demon and has alot of flex in it. It wasn't the strongest board around that Naish had that year and if you were a very 'Aggressive' rider you'd be going through these boards, i've seen it happen. For 99% of riders you'd be fine and very happy with it. Like most of the Naish boards they come with massive fins it's not hard getting used to them and you'd probably end up really liking them.
- The 07 Thorn comes in slightly different sizes to the 06 Thorns
- The graphics on the 07 Thorn look cool but SUCK compared to the 06 Thorn
- The new 'GRAV D1' Foostraps on the 07 Thorn are supposed to be alot better. More comfortable and direct feel. You can unstrap them to fit over your foot easier and they're definately easier to make and setup. The Grav D1's look really bling bling but foot pads are crappier then the 06 pads. The 06 Pads had holes on the toeside that you could grip your toes into.
I can't see how you don't like the graphics. When you see it in real life instead of on posters you will appreciate the awesome design intricacy. The Grav D1 footstraps also look sick like skate shoes and are so incredibly easy to put on. They wrap around your foot giving a more direct feel and therefore giving you way more control over your board.
The structure itself is similar to previous models and it is still featherlight. There are many holes allowing the board to be ridden with either boots or straps but with the new D1's, the straps are the go.
I tried the 07 Thorn. It feels much the same as the 06 Thorn to me. It still retains it's sharp edge and awesome carving and pop. It is supposed to be stronger the the 06 Thorn but I still think it is just as flexible as the previous Thorn. I think that this is not a beginners board! If you dont know what you are doing you're gonna get thorned! It carves where you tell it to go so a beginner is gonna be doing wave piercing on it! I've always found it to carve upwind like a demon and allow you to get going on those lighter wind days.
Whats the Thorn 07 like in waves? Are the sharp rails prone to "catch an edge" on waves? eg. going from heel to toe side, in chop etc. Also, does anyone know the main differences between the 07 Sol and 07 Thorn? Cheers J.L 
Found this after I bought my board which explains the difference between the 2. Rails are sharp, but I don't see an issue in waves. Haven't had any problems with switching in chop. Interesting part however is they say the Sol requires a much larger board for the same wind. I.e. 136 Sol is the same as 131 Thorn
