Can anyone make a comparison between these two kites for me....Looking at getting a 12-meter.

Any comments would be great...turning speed, jumping, depower etc...

My take on it, although I have only flown the Vegas a couple of times, is that the Vegas is more of a new school kite great for unhooked stuff. The Rhino on the other hand probably will have more lift and has a better low end than the Vegas but the Vegas has better hang time. They are both great kites. I hope I haven't confused you, I definately confused myself and now I can smell colours.

I've got a vegas on the way, and after reading through those 20 page posts and debates on kiteforum it seemed to simply come down to the vegas for wakestyle and the rhino for jumps. Although looking at the north site they are the same aspect and just a different cut. Interested to here others thought on the rhinos as there seem to be a lot more for sale than the vegas's, does that mean people weren't so impressed with rhino this year?
Thanks
Matt

Nothing wrong with the 06 Rhino, it is a different kite to the Vegas, Less de-power than the Vegas but a more jumping kite than wake style of the Vegas. But they are both excellent kites to fly!!!

do you all reckon that the vegas sits further back in the window than the rhino???

to me rhino has not so much grunt as it has speed. maybe i'm just used to a grunty kite, but the rhino seemed to have not so much power for getting pop.

vegas have a bit more or not really??

hey ascole,
got a 12m 06 vegas and a 10m rhino, mate has a 12m 06 rhino. We have both been kitesurfing for about 3-4 years. They stack up the exact same, apart from the wing tips, same LE length where the vegas cuts away at the leading edge but longer on the trailing. We both took them for a fly a few eeks ago for the first time, for about ten mins, then swapped. Not much difference at all in low end power, i am about 10kgs heavier than him too. I was depowering my kite before he was, i think the vegas has great low end. But all in all we thought kites were similar for waveriding.

Next few sessions since then ive been out in underpowered conditions on a surfboard. Been staying up wind as well as other guys on 16m, so i dont think low end should be an issue when you purchase. The power lock really works well in underpowered days, i found myself locking in for 10 secs before getting overpowered and unhooking it again! great to make up ground when riding waves.

Not too sure about overall jumping yet as ive only been out in waves with it, but i can say it jumps heaps better than my 13m 05 fuel. Let us know if you want more comparisions between the two...
