Hey guys! Entries are now open for the Lancelin Ocean Classic, held next year 12 – 15 January 2017. The event will be held over four massive days and includes two windsurfing events (wave sailing and marathon), kitesurfing events (waves and marathon) as well as an ocean paddling event. Those entering the marathon will receive a 20% discount on the entry fee of any non-marathon events when they enter online.

Following from the success of the combined marathon events last year, windsurfers and kitesurfers will complete the same marathon course, together on the Saturday, with Sunday being our reserve day. This is the second year in the long history of the event that the windsurfers and kitesurfers will be competing on the same course, following growing demand from athletes. Taking on board feedback from last year the start line procedures for both the Paddle, Kite and Windsurfing will be much improved.

Head to: lancelinoceanclassic.com.au to enter now and find out more.

A few Question for the LOC team,

Will kiter be treated less like second class citizens this year?
Last year at the presentation, there was virtually no mention of the fact that kiters won the event outright. The Windsurfers put on quite a good presentation and then announced to all present that that was it for the event and have a safe trip home, see you next year, no mention of the kitesurfer presentation. Kiters were left to do their own presentation, with no official photographer

Will your media team be more truthful in its results?
Last year Press release said 25km, the time quotes in media releases was calculated using finish time and this distance. Speeds were greatly overstated. Numerous competitors noticed project 3 has information and results wrong, and still the media releases continues with incorrect facts overstating winsurfer avg speed over the course.
Distance was closer to 20km.
Project3 and BlueChip were both aware of the shorter course since soon after the event yet numerous results press release continued announcing 25km. Bluechip were waiting on confirmation from Project# to correct the mistake on the system, instead the avg speed and Distance results were taken down to avoid the correction,

Here's my take
Aboriginals are owners of this land
Then along came the white man
We're still a long way off enjoying each other's company
Well it's a bit like that

I think he is saying, "1 more bicep curl and I'll be able to split the other arm on the wetty".

By bicep curl, he means pie and six pack.

Just wandering if I'm allowed to entry this event because apparently I been banned to compete in Australia that is what David from NKL and the organizers from Kiteboarding Australia told me

Maybe in the windsurfing , chuck a Lorocopter in and you'll get top spot

Sorry to distract from much needed kite vs. sail arguments... but is the 'marathon' event the 25km event? Or is there a longer distance event?

The LOC 25km 'Marathon' event is the long distance event and was just under 20km last time round.

The defined distance for a marathon is 42.195Km or 26miles.
Confused yet?

From what I've read here, I am now angry at this Kiters vs Winders vs the World b*****.

The reason I am venting is because it's actually and sadly true!

I've seen it almost from the day I've started my lessons and being out there. Kiters jumping over Windsurfers or other beach goers, or cutting too close, or even yelling at people to p-off - especially walkers on the beach just watching! Like what the hell did I get myself into here?

Later I've learnt that it's the same from the Windsurfers vs surfers and don't get me started on surfers vs esky-lid riders.

It's called Cronyism and I personally pray and hope Kitesurfing as a sport at least stops it!

JUST STOP IT!

What are all these big words? Here peep... read and learn!
