Hey Folks
thinking of having a 'family' long weekend somewhere is QLD at the end of Aug.
Looking at Yorkies as a reasonable spot with good airport access, will the season still be 'on' there then?

also looking at the little units at ville marine if anyone has stayed there?

thanks in advance

cheers HueyHuey

Fair chance you will get some wind but you will be better off heading to Port Douglas. Hour drive north of Cairns, tourist town that caters for the family holiday and a lot better chance of wind. Yorkeys is my local and I love it when it fires but the reality is it is a fickle spot at best.

I'm sure you can find quality accomodation at Port Douglas that will offer airport transfers.

I have just got back from a week in Port Douglas with the family and will definitely second it as a great family/kite spot for this time of year. I was able to kite from the beach right near our hotel. Here's a couple of holiday pics. I took my 17m and twintip, which was perfect.

The last time I went to this spot, I got bitten by mozzies that left welts for weeks!

Don't forget your bush strength aeroguard or mozzie repellent.

But it's a great spot for both water and land kiting.
