I have surfed here a number of times, great wave.

Would you kite here?

I remember seeing something similar on Ben Wilson's Dirty South video.

Looks awesome... dont get it wrong though. Is there a better launching spot close by where you can ride from to this spot?

He should have been run out of town for riding that out there, plus I would have loved to have seen his attempt at getting over the ledge to get out.
For you eezeegowin, the launch spot is at ...........now that would just take all of the adventure out wouldn't it

Keep in mind the reef is not flat and covered in barnacles, oh and it's sheltered by the wind.

I think the challenge is the impact of the cliffs on the wind. Might not be too bad on the wave but on the inside a lot of rotor and seriously gusty I've heard.

I surfed there years ago

I imagine there is a massive wind shadow at the end of the wave due to the headland

getting off the rocks is hard enough with a surfboard

let alone a kite in gusty wind with big holes

Don't imagine the locals would be to stoked with a kiter when the waves are still glassy

The wave handles the wind quite well.

If you want to make the most out of the wave, I wouldnt be using a kite.

My thoughts anyway.

I would have thought the same as far as being too sheltered from the wind by the cliffs to the south, also getting back if you had crashed your kite would be sketchy as f***, no white sand beach to land on there

This spot looks sick! Nice wave. Pity it's a left, but hey, whatever is going.

Sketchy spots aren't a problem, and that one is far from really sketchy. You need to be confident in your own ability, need to have confidence in your gear and need to accept that if it all goes wrong you are prepared for the possibility of coming in over rocks or a long swim, potentially without your board and kite etc.

I've kited some really sketchy spots in my time, in big surf and in isolated locations. Just accept responsibility for your decisions. Do not expect someone to come and rescue you, and be prepared for a long sharky swim in without your gear. Some of the best waves are to be had in places like this.

If you have any doubt whatsoever, then don't go. Simples! :-)

Wow falcon is pumping!

I have been here numerous times! Its in Mandurah and rarely gets any crowds, and the ones that kite here for some reason dont use kite leashes and are massive kooks so end up loosing there kite for most of the session. I cant understand why people even kite Perth when Mandurah is only round the corner! Get there ASAP, you will love it!

Falcons a awesome place, crabbing and fishing in the morning then kiting super sic lefts in the arvo.

Iwould like to go there but Im worried about the old kook, he runs around on the beach on all fours, barks and thinks hes a junk yard dog

The beach launch is not much better for launching due to very disturbed wind (unless mostly west) heavy dumping shore break whenever there is any swell, followed by a small area between rocks to get out between the sets, and as mentioned previously not many places to come in if you have gear trouble.

As DM mentioned before it does come down to being confident in your abilities, being aware of the risks associated with your sport and being as self-reliant and prepared as one can.
Coming in over the rocks is a lot easier than going out over them between sets and current. Twintips are gold for this.

This location and immediate surrounding area is not for the faint hearted or beginner, but if you love kitesurfing and don’t want to drive a long way to get to an easier location you have the option. Just ensure you leave plenty of room between you and the other wave/area users.

The waves are epic and well worth it though when all goes well!
