Hi All

I've had a quick search through the forums and couldn't find what I needed.

I'm chasing an online store that sells good sail tape for a repair on the LE. Where do you guys go?

Figured I could just patch it up for now and get it fixed professionally when the season is genuinely over...

Cheers

Rob

Any local sail maker or kite shop. I have found in the past that my local kite shop has the exact colours where as sail makers will normally have something close.

I'm not too worried about colour so grabbed some spinnaker repair tape from the local North sails guy the other week, was around $2 a meter I think.

I have a fair bit at home. Few colours.
Pm me and I can post some up for nothing if it's only a meter or two.

You can buy a lot of colours through Whitworths marine.

Thanks Kurt

Jumped on their website and ordered some material.

I used the search function before mkaing this post in order to avoid being burnt by your comments or something similar.

Wanted a reputable online dealer. Either it doesn't exist on this forum (highly unlikely) and could not find the correct parameters to use for a productive search. Saved myself some time by asking the forum. Yeilded the desired results.

Thanks again Kurt

Try this reputable online retailer www.kitepower.com.au/collections/kitesurfing

BUT if its on your LE and any longer than a couple of mm, then don't bother, sail or even dacron insignia tape will not work, if its stuck on the outside. if you can get a bit of dacron insignia tape (the stuff they cut letters and numbers from for yacht sails) on the inside through the zipper, it might work.
Almost all LE cuts need to be sewn by an experienced sailmaker or repairer (we do these repairs too)

So can you confirm this is a Leading edge repair you are doing??
If so you might want to re-consider.

Sticking a piece of tape on it won't do squat unless it is a tiny rip.
Just get it repaired properly now and it wont cost too much. If you wait you risk the bladder pushing through. This will increase the damage and blow out the bladder.

In QLD the repairers are myself, Off the beach? and Moti just over the border.

I recently got my kite repaired at a Sail shop that I found right down the road from me. Manders Sails in Coorparoo.

Dunno how pricing compares but the convenience kind of rocked :)
