Hi,
I'm looking at getting a new quiver of kites, as I have really started to get into freestyle riding (currently have a 11m C4 and 8m Rebel which ill let the old man use when I upgrage). Currently riding a 137 North Team Series and a 137 Nobile T5 and I weigh 80kg.

My question is which would be more suitable for me, a 7/9/12 or 8/10/13 quiver or something else?

Cheers

No angle.
I've only just started kiting in perth, up until a month ago I was kiting in port hedland where the wind is quite different to here, and I cant seem to make my mind up between those two quivers.

At 80kg i would lean towards the 8/10/13. I think both quivers would work well however for a perth summer u would get way more use out of a 8m than the 7m. The 7m is fun for them nuking winter days although u wont be doing freestyle

I would get the small quiver and buy a surfboard. Now you have moved down to Perth and there are some waves down the coast you might even change your riding style :) ?

I've had a 7,9,12 Vegas quiver for 3 years at 75kgs in Perth. 9 is the most used kite, over 25kts the 7 is the go. Kites are 3 years old now so due an upgrade.

U only need two kites
A 7 &11
Or 8 &12

Save yourself $2000. Plus don't need three

Second that. Unless you are driving to the Pond for a kite rethink what you'll be using 99% of the time.

Had a 7/9/12 Vegas quiver and been on the 9 70% of the time. Hated the 7 as it is too twitchy. Changed to a 8/10/12 and quite happy with it. Although from all the Vegases I had over the years the 9 was the most fun. As Salty said if you are mainly into freestyle then perhaps rather the larger size quiver anyway?

yeh I'm leaning to a 7/9/12 since Ill be on the 9 most days. Dont know how much use I'll get out of the 7 so I might go for a 9/12. I also heard that the 13 is quite a bit slower than the 12 so was leaning more towards the 12

Is the pond the only flatwater spot in Perth?
