haha - I'm pretty sure Jason Slezak (who was the guy) knows a thing or two about kiting and ideal conditions. At a guess I'd say there would be no swell on the other side...

When it gets too offshore all you seem to be able to do is crank upwind to stay on the wave face. TYou can not longer ride the wave effectively. There's this magical point of cross off when its just right. Getting on the wave is sweet and when you rip down the line you don't even need a kite that drifts well. The kite is in the perfect spot. You can use the bar like a throttle to dial in more ore less grunt for where you are on the wave. Its cool.
