to add to my last post its certainly technique, the monk has a very aggressive outline, I use this as much as I use my fins, itll grip harder than most boards in powered conditions, but when flattened out will skid around like your on ice, when your riding skills and time on the board increases you can use it to your advantage, its a ripper
I ride this stance in our winter onshores for a few klms and it doesn't miss a beat, a lower parked kite will also help engage your edge, the higher in the window the more the kites pulling you from your edge
