A mate was using a Skord on his LEI while we were kite buggying in QLD over Easter.
It takes a bit to get the friction screw on the bearings just right, so it swings around smoothly to the lowest position.
A bit of grit buggers it up fairly easily.

We were land based so may be a lot better on the ocean.
It's a fine line between swinging and a smooth transition. (or just stuck at 45 degrees.

After a bit of frustration, we used a drop of sewing machine oil to lube it. That seemed to work better, but you have to keep it pretty clean.
We ran out of time but I wondered if it was mounted further down the strut and short "GoPro straight extension" down to the camera. (the ones that don't rotate the camera 90 degrees) would help get it to rotate to the bottom each time.
It does take awesome footage though when you get it set right.
