After years of debate as to which is better, Sam Light puts it into perspective. It all depends on personal style. If you are a beginner, male/female, freestyler, wakestyler, surfer, foiler, etc. Some harnesses are better suited than others.

6min is to long 4 me.
Foiling light style seat with rope sliding connection is 80% best or shorts with slider.

I've actually gone to waist harness and slider for foiling, as I prefer small kites and don't "race"...so don't need the bulk or support.

I dragged out my 2001 wipika pilot seat. Cut hook off and added a twin rope for slider. Second rope is backup.
just have to remember if switching to TT to switch harness as slider can do weird stuff in jumps

If you don't already have one, I recommend the Dakine 'Reflex" windsurfing seat harness.
It's a very low cut around the waist, the dakine Vega is about 4cm higher meaning its just high enough to poke at the lower rib when twisting and bending etc.
For general park and ride the vega is good and gives the lower back a bit more support..

Everytime I consider getting a seat harness the belts in the seat crotch thingy get me a little worried.

Also have the older style ride engine carbon bar slider which I can not let go of but cannot find a suitable replacement harness has anyone found a solution to this

I use this. A Sailmaker/Kiter Mate put it together for me. It's basically a Seat Harness without the Nappy feel. Best of all plenty of support and Never rides up.

Been a big fan of the Dakine Nitrous shorts teamed with a Dynabar the for a few years now. Super comfortable and much kinder to my back.
