Been a bit bored on the reo/ whip combo, last 10 years
I remember the days at secrets with my ozone cat /shinn dundee when the doctor broke loose,
Those days were special , sun glinting off the waves etc big power boosts nice floaty carves, I miss it

Looking for a board kite combo that's angry aggressive /buckle up etc
For the new season any suggestions?

MOzCustoms board and RRD Religions.
proper bottom to top wave hacking..
and not fragile stuff with experimental construction thats more about graphics than utility

Ozone Reo V7 in standard construction or the Ultra X, and the new Ozone Code V4 were made for exactly what you're looking for is my 2c worth.

Kinda sounds like you need the Enduro for boosting and riding waves ?

I did all of my long downwinders in Brazil on an Edge. SB and TT. The Enduro backstalls and falls out of the sky, sh1t kite for wave riding imo.

My 2009 ozone instinct sports 9 and 11 metre in waves and surf do all that is required that a hotshot wants drift, boost, quick turning ,easy upwind, light bar ,bombproof fabric ..

How is it possible an edge can hunt the wind and stay further forward in the window but be good at slack line drifting on a wave? Thought kites were good at one or the other but near impossible to be amazing at both due to physics

Well my experience differs substantially to some of the posts above. All I can guess is that the people writing that the Edge is great in waves, are not really surfing the waves, they must be just kiting in the ocean and get on an unbroken wave and kite along the unbroken face well away from the pocket?
The Edges will end up in the drink if you try to ride them down the line, downwind. Riding waves downwind is very different to riding on a wave thats not breaking and riding on that wave upwind.

For what you have described you want from a new kite the Ozone Enduro V5 would be perfect, but if you actually ride a surfboard most of the time then the Reo V7 would be a better choice and if you want the best possible drift, sharp turning, light bar pressure, fast/short depower throw, then get the Ultra X version.

Dude, i think you answered your own question.
Get off the surfboard and back onto a good twin tip.
Find your shinn and a nice boosting kite and go get some adrenaline back into you.

If your looking to get onto a kite that works well in the surf and doesn't feel like a learner kite get a demo of the Core Nexus 4
They have improved the drift of the kite considerable over the Nexus 3 but it has not reduced it's ability to jump big and float well
If you fly the kite aggressively it will reward you with incredible performance.
