Hi Guys,

I have always ridden a Twin Tip, 4 years on straps & 8 years with boots. I started learning on a strapped surfboard and have ridden one strapless from time to time however never really got into it. I just got an unexpected tax return so i am going to splash out and buy a fun board. (for reference my current board is a tona pop)

I am looking for something that ticks the following boxes.

- Tough construction
- ideal for small to middle sizes waves.
- Can be ridden with Straps
- Can jump and handle a few transitions
- Loose feel

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Cheers

Sorry guys, poorly finished email.

I am very happy with the Pop, looking for a surf style board that ticks the boxes above. e.g Naish Skater.

cheers

hi Kookaburrahz,

I know what I want in a performance board, I am just looking for something new to do some different riding on. Like 540 transitions, boosting off waves, toe side rolls etc.

Unfortunately the length you have ridden doesn't necessary equate to knowledge or skills lol. I have ridden off and on over this time never anywhere near autograph level. Haven't had the pleasure to work in either location just London, Brisbane and the gold coast.

Cheers

What about this type of style?

A the risk of sounding uncool a wave TT or mutant might serve you well. It ticks all those boxes above.

Axis twin wave
shin speed ball
ocean rodeo Mako,

This cabrinha tronic also looks interesting

tona flow maybe? maybe too similar to what your used to. maybe get a wake skate? that would be pretty fun and different.

85kg and have a150cm Mako 2013 love it in the surf
but give it 3 or 4 hours to dial it in,it's a bit unusual at
first and imho does't work as well in flat water. Also own
a monk which is a great board in flattish water but the Mako
flogs it in the surf.

You may like this, cross between a wake skate and a wake surf. Build like a brick and is super fun in small waves and flats. I don't ride it anymore and it's just dillinger in the shed. You can have it for $150

Hey mate it's a liquid force wake surf. Really fun it's got thrusters but small so you can still flick it around

The new NAISH Skater should tick most the boxes-

PS- I have ridden the Nugget for years and love it but not really with straps.

All these Tomo rip-off shapes are completely terrible from what I've seen. You would be much better off just going down to your local shaper and getting him to glass up a short wide fish for you.
