Hey guys,

Posted a similar ad on here a few months back in Melbourne, had a bit of luck and did a bit with Astrostan who is sound and if you need a Melbourne builder, he's the ***.

Basically, after not having much luck in Melbourne, we decided to head West to Perth. We have set our selves up with a place in Joondalup and I am trying to get some work for the next 6 or 7 months. I have some people on the lookout in architecture but would really like something more hands on that would build on the skills I already have. Bit about me below!

My background for the past 13 years has been in architecture, designing and detailing new housing and industrial/offices and running it on site. But, I wouldn't be your typical architect. I've worked on a couple of house renovations, I can do a bit of carpentry, 1st fix stud work etc 2nd fix architraves, skirting, doors, ironmongery. Laid a few solid oak floors too. Have done a spot of dry lining and small amount of electrics and plumbing, but none of this is formally for a company. Basically my father is a chippy and taught me a few things over the years. I think I am pretty flexible, good problem solver, can turn my hand to most things. Also replaced a few engines in cars, head gaskets etc as well as your usual wear and tear items like suspension, brakes, starter motors and all that.
Not afraid of hard work, I'm fit and healthy and a Paddy so if you want me to dig some holes, sure I could!

While in Melbourne I laid a 3x8m deck on 50x150mm supporting frame, hung some front and internal doors and fitted ironmongery, carried out some general handyman work at some houses fitting bins, door stops and the like, built a new set of steps to an Existing deck, painted and decorated a house and fitted taps. Sure I can get a couple of references if you need.

Anyway, here's hoping that one of you guys might have something for me. Also, if there are any kiters in Joondalup who want a buddy, also give me a shout!

Thanks
Sean

WA/Perth has had its time in the sun. The 1300 immigrants per week average (over the last 5 years) from overseas and interstate have help fill all openings. Sorry but you left your run a little late. Time for the eastern states to start pulling their weight, which I think is starting to happen..

Unemployment stats say WA's unemployment is increasing and NSW is decreasing.. everyone move to NSW!

Perth has a beautiful weather, you can go camping, fishing and 4x4 every single day! Sometimes even kiting! Who need work or anything else?
