Converting an old twintip into foil board. Seen cork decking on some boards. Any cork flooring would do or there is some 'special marine grade' I would need and where to get it in Perth?

Or forget cork and use some other foam decking? Twintip has little float, need something that would improve float. I checked my foil bolted to it in the pool, it floats, but only just...

Salt or sugar can be clear-coated onto the board, but you're after cork for flotation...
It'll probably get shredded first time you fall off, but if you really want to use that twin tip, then why not.

Hey Swavek, I use Corecork from Amorim in 2mm. It is designed for laminating. I got it from Lavender in QLD.
I have it exposed on my foil board however it was vacuum bagged. I've never tried applying on deck with a glue but I presume it would work too.

Let me know if you want some.

@livit - I mine from a place in Adelaide who now don't have any more. Can you share the supplier details?

Nice, I remember your boardf fromthe Backyard shapers thread - look sick!

I thought I'd gone overboard buying 10m of corecork as a back yard hacker - you're set for life with 40m!! :)

Do you have a shaping room setup, or just use a shed etc?

I wish I had a proper workshop but unfortunately I only have a carport... One day I will!

We used to have a spare warehouse at work where we had a temperature controlled room with extraction fume cabinet. I had it all for myself for 6 months until it got sold. Gone are these days so now I need to pick time and days with adequate temperatures...

If you ever need 2mm corecork, just send me a pm ;-)
