everyone competing is a judge and you cant judge unless you compete everyone gets allotted 15 minutes of fame where they get water time everyone else has to just watch and judge (and muscle anyone from entering the comp area). end of the day you win the beer that everyone chucked in for and drank most of during the day. some egg has to bring the snags another peanut brings a couple chooks all done and dusted.

do it once a month if you want total cost is like ? $100 ? between 10 of yas?

why involve insurance and promotions and **** if all you want is to rank yourself amongst others and have a bit of grub and grog? honesty would probably do more for the sport then anything "officially" organised. none of the cool surfers compete anymore anyways cant we learn from theyre mistakes?

Awesome! Wa state titles are always a fun weekend!! Stoked FireWire got onboard and donated a new FireWire Evo- we will be giving it away to somoeone that rips all weekend and is deserving of a new sled! Make sure to enter- thanks again to Kite Addiction also- always a great support to wa state titles!

I think its a pretty good initiative having a prize (and a good one at that) for a newbie in the sport.

Yeh thanks for the comment UnderOath ...the comp isnt all about all the spono guys as much as having fun and bringing the newer excited crew getting them involved. Fire Wire were pretty generous to throw this in no questions asked. RUSS C who has organized this comp for over 7 years I think has done a sik job. I have seen guys that have been kiting one year come in and win divisions so we are trying to say to the newer kiters dont under estimate yourselves.

From WAKSA site - This years State Waves Titles will be run at South Brighton Beach on the weekend 12/13th November from about midday onwards.

Agree Russ does a great job organising all this, however (and correct me if im wrong) it seems WAKSA are behind the 8 ball.

Just a shout out to any crew that think they are not up to scratch to go in this comp. The amateur division is there to have fun and also it helps to advance your riding also getting good advice and watching from the more experienced guys. Did I mention a 1000$ Firewire amongst other prizes from Kite addiction and Cabrinha.
Other divisions include Juniors, masters, Womens.

Regos close Thursday night 17th nov. Draw will be done Friday. Forecast looks like it could be the best conditions we have had for state titles in Perth yet. Wind both days, building swell Saturday arvo and peaking Sunday for finals with heaps of wind all arvo Sunday. Swell is wse so with that bit of west should be good size with a 16-18 sec period. Get registered and get amongst it, should be a killer weekend and event if the forecast stays like this!!!!!

<div> We expect to wrap up the competition by about 5 pm. Get your entries in to WAKSA – we can’t take entries on the day. Cost is $20 per competitor.
