Hi all,

My chicken loop has split in two places, what could have caused this as the bar and lines are only one year old, can it be easily replaced? And will it be safe to use for now?

Thanks

Good for you. I wouldn't worry. The only good thing about the hard plastic tubing is so the loop doesn't fall off your hook. Otherwise, just kite! It would still work. I don't even have a donkey dick on my loops.

Last time I checked I am sure I saw it dangling like a black piece of scat out of your arse

Stuff and nonsense. The tube protects the rope it covers, which is what is actually taking all the load. Without the tubing, the rope wears out very quickly and can snap without warning. Replace as soon as you spot holes in the tubing . . .

General use causes it. Some hooks are worse than others at wearing on the contact points.

"Manufacturer to send newy ASAP" said whatshisname.

Same thing will happen again. ^^^

Unfortunately, it's a piss-poor design. lol.

Maybe replace with steel cable for that xtra shine and tang.

See Brad (from that other thread) about said cable ...

or maybe just ramp up a GoFundMe begging campaign for something nice for yourself.

Same thing happened to mine and it was replaced by the manufacturer too.

I stopped using the QR as much. I take the DD out and just unhook if I need to flag the kite and I have the time to do so.
