We've shopped with these sacs from French supermarkets leclerc, Carrefour and champion
weve owned them for 13 years, which means we've roughly not used 26,000 plus bags , recycling here is non existent , Carnt see why we Carnt all use a similar bag from our supermarket chains

I am all for not using plastic bags, recycling, riding my bike rather than driving, composting, buying products with no packaging etc.

a question for you all though to hopefully help reduce my impact on the environment is what do you use for rubbish bags?

(actually, the answer might be in that video, I'll watch it tonight.)

but I found that when I went cold turkey with shopping bags, I then had no rubbish bags for at home (yes, I try to reduce this rubbish but always have some). I ended up buying rubbish bags for the bins at home.

Now I just do one shop now and then to collect enough bags for my household rubbish to go in.

I saw a report a while ago showing a similar thing happened in places that got rid of shopping bags, the market for rubbish bags being bought from super markets increased dramatically.

any suggestions of how to deal with house hold rubbish? Do you just go no bag and rinse your bin almost every day?

haven't come across much plastic while kiting yet, tho have lost a few cheap sunnies in water good general thread tho... council claim they will not pick up bins if rubbish in plastic bags but everyone does it, not enforced... redgroup had program to return unused bags to stores, replas turned them into bollards, initial success but gc factory closed within 2 years... new kiters save the ocean thread needed

Lol. 'Japanese Folding' aka origami. I've used newspaper for years but a quick and easy 'push in and line the bin' technique.

Too true.
milk, drinks, meat, fruit .... everything covered in plastics.

i went to the supermarket this morning, kinda excited to really have a look to see what changes I could make to reduce plastic waste and I was overwhelmed with how much plastic there was in supermarkets. I always knew it was there but as I was looking for it, I really was shocked.

Everything is packaged. It's crazy!!

Stats say 9 millions tons of plastic will enter the water this year, you could make enough cling film to wrap 7.5 % of the planet
scary thing is that it's use is growing

I buy meat from the supermarket - you either get it pre-packaged or in a plastic bag from the deli - plastic container or plastic bag.

You know, up here fishing is a mecca sport and the one thing that irritates me about fishos is that I am almost constantly seeing a bait bag floating on the water, that some doush decided it belonged in the ocean instead of in his own boat!
