Currently riding a L/ Force Foil Fish about 2 yrs.
can go upwind downwind carve heel to toe side and back fully powered
tight figure 8 s and wide carves to downwind in light wind and moderate wind
gets to unstable in high winds
haven't tried a tack as yet.
Looking at upgrading to full carbon racing foil KFA or Moses
To big a step up some say no ?

You will get use to anything that you put the time in to.

Big foil wing slow, easy and safe assisting faster skill development
Moderate flat wing lively and good all round
High aspect carbon wing - while for me a bit less stable (mostly roll) much more lively and fast but still ok control.
I recommend having one of each.

I used a KFA foil for a bit and it was FARKING fast compared to the one I ride, I could still get up and going just fine. However, it was a little hard to keep the speed down lol. I'd go for it, would just take a little time to adjust.

It should take only 5 minutes or so to get the new foil dialled in. Almost anything newer is going to be better than the Liquid Force.

Why go for full race? Freeride is a lot more versatile. Even better is a quiver of foils. I have a low speed foil for waves and sketchy conditions and a higher aspect for more speed and agility.

Also, why only KFA and Moses? There's lots of brands to choose from, although many you have to buy online. I am a big fan of J Shapes from NZ. I could not be happier with my gear and the prices are very reasonable. www.jshapes.com/

I have the J Shapes Cruzer and Freeride foils with the 95cm mast. Until recently I was riding the 155cm board. Now I have the 120cm.

Surprisingly changing the board makes a massive difference. Everything up on the foil is faster and much more agile. Surface moves are much more difficult. Even straight line speed is faster.

The bigger board is more forgiving and easier but the smaller board is huge amounts of fun. It has forced me to get better at foiling foot swaps and things are progressing nicely.

He's been showing it on Facebook and is now selling it. The web site has not been updated yet. I sent an email asking a question and got to order one with some custom extras.

Kfa **** quality stay clear....mosses be better or spotz,it is a big step as I'll see it will take a fair while to get good again,I have spotz tuna,fast as ****,steady but will spit u out when mess up lol have fun

You'll be fine - I had a Kfa Mako v1 and it's a seriously easily foil to ride fast. I'm a B grade foiler at best but could still get 20kts upwind and close to 30kts downwind) using race foil kites. Scared the hell out of me :)

KFA Mako was Very stable and performs like its on rails. Moses also very good and is modular which I think is a benefit for anyone who isn't a hard core racer.

If you really want a competitive race foil I believe the current picks are still Mikes Lab or Enata. ML hard to buy but Enata are readily available. I've seen both in the flesh and are just beautiful.

I've gone back to freeride foils myself - SUP / Surf foils in particular because they are more versatile and better suited to how I ride (waves, freeride)
