Big thanks to Ben from foilsport for setting me up with my first foil kite. Its a PeterLynn Nova 12m. Cannot wait to get some water time. Will write a review once I get a few seasons under my belt. Looks bloody awesome. From the reviews I have seen it's a great alternative to ozone foil kites and cheaper too.

Any questions let me know. Cheers

I borrowed one from MJ and took it out yesterday. I flew it back to back with my Flysurfer soul 12m.

Initially the wind was not enough to park the soul on the side of the window / 45 degrees so I landed it and put the Nova up. It sat there perfectly fine in the same wind and has a lot more power in the kiteloop.

I was using a 52cm bar and 15m lines whereas the Soul was on 17m lines and a 60cm bar. I think the bar was too small or the lines too short because once on the water, I could not do a kiteloop by fish polling the bar without the wing tip touching the water. I ended up having to tug a steering line to complete the loop.

This is not really a review, just initial impressions / observations from 30mins of flying in marginal wind. Keen to give it another crack with a bigger bar.

What size bar and lines did you get with it?

Probably started around 4-6 knots and got up to 12, then dropped back to 6-8 knots

I'm interested to know your reasons for going for the Peter Lynn over the other comparable options on the market? Your impressions of the bar would be cool also when you get the opportunity.

For the 10m I was advised (by the E.U. rep) to get the Medium M3 (53cm) bar and 19m lines, he said that the 12m should have the Large L2 (63cm) bar with 17m lines. All bars come with 3m line extensions. M1 & L1 have 15m, M2 & L2 17m, M3 & L3 19m, M4 & L4 21m. The Nova is a lower AR which may help with the light wind stability and be looping deeper in the window. Im really looking forward to getting my hands on the Nova, for foiling, it should be a game changer, no more swims! I hope.

If its at the bottom end of the wind go for the line extensions. You will get more room to loop and a much longer power stroke
I always grab the line in a gybe as a matter of habit from racing

Had another go on the Nova today. Wind was around 7-8 knots and later dropped to 5 or 6 knots.

Got some good speeds on the Nova 33kph max, 24 kph when cruising along with the Moses 683s wing.

Seemed to get better up wind angles than my friend's chrono v2.

I was flying it on 17m lines today with a 60cm bar. Kite loops made it around without touching a wing tip but I had to really fish pole still.

For me I think I would fly the 12m on 17-20m lines to get a wider arch.

Lots of bottom end. Downside against the Soul is probably turn speed but that's about it, everything else seems on par of better.

That's awesome mate. I'm still learning (first foil kite) 7knots is stiff all wind. Pretty sweet kite and cannot wait to get more water time.

Great reviews and comments fellas!

I am a Peter Lynn distributor here in Oz, and will be happy to answer your questions, orders, pricing etc with the new PL Nova. And yes, it is a game changer for both foilers and twin-tip riders.
