Reckon around a 10 minute wait at the delhi with another 15-20 minute wait at the front. I ditched the basket and went to the library.

We've started shopping online and it's great. Not only do wollies have free delivery we also avoid impulse shopping and save heaps of time. We usually put in the order Friday night and have a weeks worth of shopping delivered on Sunday night after the kids have gone to bed...

I am surprised you would entertain the idea of purchasing chili olives from a oligarchic company like woolworths, firstly the workers both in Australia and those that are involved in production are exploited financially, emotionally and metaphysically. There are quite a few of them about in hobby farms on the Mornington Peninsula. I know they are used for wool and it was all groovy to own and breed them in the late 80's. But I've never heard of them as a dish.

They'd probably be really good in a hungi

Yup I've done that... Specially after seeing the choice of fruit; it's so pathetic it just makes me angry... ironic they call themselves "the fresh food people"... my cat won't eat things from the deli.

Just for the record I have never eaten a Lama, but I have tried dog biscuits. Once.

We think we've got it made in Australia but when I see photos from
Other country's the people are well dressed 'even though they are 3rd world'

Those photos are awesome! Love it! The reason we don't have that here (apart from hygiene rules) is called 'employment'. All the photos show self-employed people trading goods they've invested in so they present them to sell them. The sales are their income. Their incentive is to sell. They woke up well before the crack of dawn to get all that ready and beautifully presented. They're competing against all the others selling the same stuff and if they don't just want a race to the lowest cut-throat price then they try to differentiate by presenting a bit better than your neighbouring seller.

Now switch to Australia... The owner is far, far removed from the actual business activity. The people working derive their income from selling their time and not from the sales revenue so they have no incentive to sell...or get up early...or work on the presentation. And there's no competition!

I love the markets of developing countries...but there are times when I'm tired or just can't be bothered haggling that I just wish they'd stick a price label on the damned thing and be done with it! :)

Big day Pete, hang around home thinking what to do, head off for some olives but oh no the queue's too big, too busy for that so some quiet time at the library to get over it, then to finish off come here and tell us, you crack me up

When they opened up the old Albany whaling station to tourists I discovered they sold the leftover stuff after they boiled down the whale remains to the company that made chook pellets. couhg cough,.. gag,.. choke,.
They were sooo cheap too.
But apparently they were quite nutritious. No wonder I'm so fit.
The chooks really liked them so why should they have all the fun?
Anyone for some more chook pellets while I'm up?

So, whaling is actually a natural, organic, nutritious foodstuff. Let's sink Sea Shepherd, get the Japanese to bottle the whale leftovers in white plastic bottles as pills and sell it to us as an exorbitantly-priced health food!
