The old bloke in the smallcar in the first vid after the accident, you see him and hes just in absolute shock. What do you do?

I remeber seeing a bad roll over on Oats street, kinda the same thing. Shocking thing to see, even worse when innocent people get hurt.

Can to happen to anyone one of us tomorrow in a split second.

Kind of crazy the way we all drive at 100 km/h, with cars coming the other direction only a foot away.

^^If you live in Russia.. Who does a u-turn on a crowded freeway?? what a d1ckhead. I don't think a seatbelt would have saved him..

Possibly a very survivable crash with a seatbelt. Rollovers are probably the worst type of crash to not wear a belt for. The rotational forces are massive.

Maybe a very slim possibility

Slim is still way better than none. Don't get me wrong, even with a seatbelt the driver would have copped a decent flogging but from my (first hand) experience most people killed or critically injured in rollovers are ejected or partially ejected, and that generally only happens when a belt isn't worn properly.

What I found interesting was in Choco's vid I found it very easy to assume the driver of the SUV was at fault, it's not until you see Dmitri's clip that you can see what really happened.

There's been a few at that intersection next to the train station. We we're just discussing one last night, brand new 4wd was T'boned by a woman running the stop sign, 4wd ended up rolling.

Regardless of the thread title I think a graphic content warning should be up here. You may not see the poor sod go splat but it is someone dying. And if for nothing other than cultural reasons a death warning should be apparent.
We all need to remember that this is an open age site.

And yes I know I can be crass on here at times but there's a big difference between being crass and some poor bastard dying.

I disagree Smicko, the thread title gave you a good idea of what you are going to see. If people are concerned about their kids seeing it, it's up to them to moderate and supervise their kids, not us.

+1 the main stream media needs to start showing more graphic footage of accidents, this is what our Police Ambo's and SES have to deal with on a daily basis, might just help wake some people up and in turn take more care on the roads.
That is the reason I put this on here holiday season is upon us and our chances of having an accident greatly increased, take care on the roads people.

If I had to give one piece of advice for young and not so young drivers it would be never take your eyes off the road----ever!

Eat in the car if you must, but never take your eyes off the road for the radio or for that girl on the footpath......not even for a split second.

And slow down. Having a accident at 60 Kms per hour the damage is much less than having a accident at 70 Kms per hour, trust me.

That's pretty good advice. The other one is don't be slack like the moron who caused the accident above. If you miss a turn, continue on and take the safest alternate route. Go round the block if you have to. Don't slam on the brakes or cut across lanes. If you're late for something then just chill and be late. If you need to do something distracting then pull over and do it on the side of the road.

S h i t that is awful.

That old saying "You are more likely to die driving your car to the beach than being attacked by a shark" all of a sudden seems more real... and way more gruesome than you imagine.

Looking forward to my 5 hour drive down to the rellies for christmas tonight.

Stay safe everybody

Well I try and pay attention to my driving but I keep getting distracted by all those chem-trails in the sky.

doesn't make sense does it ?

but in russia they don't believe in seat belts.
i actually new someone in moscow who could prove it. he survived a head on collision on a highway being thrown through the windscreen.
but a couple in the other car got killed. they were wearing seat belts.

it's bizarre that in all the comments under the second video no one would go like: "$h1t ! i will be wearing seat belt from now on".
seat belts weren't mentioned at all !
