What would happen if all the heavy weather heavys had to cross from australia to america on the same boat. Its seabreeze meets below deck / alone / naked and afraid
Whats the best ai to calculate this? Im assumeing the waybackmachine should be able to read heavy weather
Yes, it is possible for AI to read an online forum, differentiate each poster, and categorize them. This task involves Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Machine Learning (ML) techniques. Here's a breakdown of the process:
Step 1: Data Collection
The AI system collects the online forum data, including posts, comments, and user information.
Step 2: Preprocessing
The collected data is preprocessed to remove noise, handle missing values, and normalize the text data.
Step 3: User Identification
The AI system uses techniques like:
1. *Named Entity Recognition (NER)*: Identifies user names, handles, or IDs.
2. *Stylometry*: Analyzes writing styles, such as vocabulary, syntax, and grammar
3. *Behavioral analysis*: Examines posting patterns, frequency, and engagement.
Step 4: Categorization
The AI system categorizes users based on their:
1. *Posting behavior*: Frequency, tone, and content
2. *Topics of interest*: Categories or themes they frequently discuss.
3. *Sentiment and emotions*: Positive, negative, or neutral tone.
4. *Language and syntax*: Formality, complexity, and grammar
Step 5: Clustering and Profiling
The AI system groups users into clusters based on their characteristics and creates profiles for each cluster.
Step 6: Continuous Learning
The AI system updates its models and profiles as new data becomes available, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
Techniques and Tools
Some techniques and tools used for this task include:
1. *Machine Learning algorithms*: K-means clustering, hierarchical clustering, and supervised learning.
2. *NLP libraries*: NLTK, spaCy, and Stanford CoreNLP.
3. *Deep learning frameworks*: TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras.
Challenges and Limitations
While AI can effectively categorize users in online forums, challenges and limitations include:
1. *Data quality and noise*: Incomplete, inconsistent, or biased data.
2. *Contextual understanding*: AI may struggle to fully comprehend nuances, sarcasm, or humor.
3. *Evolving language and behavior*: Users' language and behavior can change over time.
4. *Privacy and ethics*: Ensuring user anonymity and adhering to ethical standards.
Real-World Applications
Categorizing users in online forums has various applications:
1. *Community management*: Identifying influential users, sentiment analysis, and content moderation
2. *Market research*: Understanding user behavior, preferences, and opinions.
3. *Customer service*: Routing inquiries to relevant support agents based on user profiles.
By leveraging AI and NLP techniques, it is possible to differentiate each poster and categorize them in online forums, providing valuable insights for various applications.
..... the future is apon us. Actual robot grammer nazis
What would happen if all the heavy weather heavys had to cross from australia to america on the same boat.
Clearly Carantoc would be captain.
myscreename would be Scotty in engineering trying to keep the di-lithium crystals together
FormulaNova would be cabin boy
Froth Goth would be the leader of a cloaked Romulan warbird, following along behind
remery could be science officer I guess
Ain't much of a need for a person who draws pictures of houses though. Lucky they got sucked out into the vortex never to be seen again.
We will be be fine. Look at how these, well-dressed immigrants, from Africa were welcomed in America. Conservatives love everyone.
Huh... well would you look at that!
It never occured to me that i could plastidip the end of my crackpipe so it wouldnt burn my lips.
Hahaha i wonder if theres a version of the sup?r long elegant black ci?arette holders that actresses would use at balls etc but instead for crack. Like some sort of aristocrat version of a homeless on 6th st
Could ai tell us who macroscien is ?
Maybe waveslave ?
Maybe ai could discover if laurie last name is really keet?
Is the wayback machine still able to access the heavey weather ? Can it be sailed once more?
Just a sea of red thumbs
Few familular names
Im narrowing in on my goal of heavy weather tho
Then well spit it into the discombublator ai machine and see what happens

I don't want to get in the way of your 'mission from god' or anything like that, but years ago Laurie or one of the admins were threatening to shut down heavy-weather and I made the suggestion that they should at least set a flag to tell Google and anyone else to not cache the content. I am pretty sure they did that whether it was my suggestion or they were doing it anyway.
But keep looking for it. There may be some weird part of the web where they have nothing but storage capacity to cache random content from random people on a watersports website. I doubt it though, but if it keeps you entertained...
I am not sure you would find anything worth reading as it wasn't worth reading the first time around.
Can you run myscreenname through the AI parsing thing? If I can find his duplicate accounts then surely an AI would do a much better job than I.
Cheers fn I'll keep yaposted
Oh and this is all just a bit of a fun test of ai to see what it's capability are and what it means for the OLD Web
Just imagine what it could do in mIRC
Imagine all the A/s/l chats from the 90s coming back to haunt the world
It could probably figure out who started what meme
Did the cia create the dancing baby ?
I'm going to start stocking up on IDE cables they're might be a run on old tech

It was threads like this that resulted in Heavy Weather.

And this is the discussion when red thumbs were removed. Or when Seabreeze became 'woke'

"Norobots" was the meta-tag if I recall correctly.

That must have been before Laurie sold the site to Temu and ignored bjw's detailed proposal for 'Seabreeze modernization' - lol
Many years ago, I had put the call out for volunteering of time to help Laurie update Seabreeze. New emojis, new features. Basically a refresh.
It's still the same.

I have no idea of what software is used behind the scenes, but I expect that Seabreeze is built on some sort of forum platform that is common across many sites. I doubt anything is custom these days unless its a legacy site and the cost to update those is probably more than moving to a new platform.
New emojis? People can't figure them out now.
Okay, lets have a vote. Who is happy to pay a $10 a year subscription fee for new emojis?

There's a SUP forum? I guess I learned something today. And people were using red thumbs in a way of ganging up on people? No way!
I remember there being a comment from the admins that some people never used green thumbs and pretty much maxed out their red thumb allocations when there was a ratio. Who would have thought?
Oh, I get it, you ride a sup when you are not chasing sharks.
What am I doing even reading this? I should be out skiing instead. I give myself one red thumb and will turn off the computer.
