I think I must be becoming a grumpy old man like my old man.

Anyway there are some songs that seem to grow on you and some the more you hear them the more you want to smash the radio.

One that makes me feel like throwing up is. Once I was a 7 year old numpty.

When he mentions he was apparently drinking hard liquor and smoking weed at 11 he lost me.
My 11 y/o at least has the sense to think he is a d!ck for such lyrics (thank God)

Where is the video somebody posted here of the chick who did the song as an improved version...?

Mum said to go and make some friends or you'll be lonely (obviously had no friends because he was a complete muppet).

100% concur, what is the trend for male singers to squeak like pre pubescent man children? "I never expected that" is another one.

I have a very wide taste in music and this "7 years old" song just grates on me almost as much as anything by that mediocre drummer turned lead singer and Bob Hoskins clone - Phil Collins.

Still that's why they have an on/off switch I suppose.

Anything Aussie hip-hop.

The only saving grace is that most of these "artists" begin their drivel with a "yo, check it out" or a long "mmm..." that they have copied form an American hip-hopper, so you can switch it off before you suffer too much exposure.

Me too.

Never fails to amaze me on a tough talking building site with all the lads trying to out-tough each other, meanwhile they're humming along to beiber or pink or whatever on the work site radio which is invariably tuned full volume to the gaheyest commercial radio station they can find.

I Thought you were better that that Mark

They sound to me like someone about 3 - 4 rows behind you at the footy hurling constant abuse at the umpires. All I can think of is "Shut Up!!!!!!"

anything at all that is played by the local radio station.
Our phone system at work won't tune in anything else, I've heard of high repetition, but wholly sheet, I'm sure they only have 8cd's in the place.

I'm tempted to have a whip around and get a few $$ together to buy them another few albums or tapes from Brashs.

Also, does it means your really an old fart when you start liking Gold 104.3 FM?
they played Violent Femmes the other day FFS.

You golden oldies listened to some strange music back in the tape days.
Violent Femmes ??
Definition of femme. : a lesbian who is notably or stereotypically feminine in appearance and manner.

Violent Lesbians. Queen, Prince, Michael Jackson.
Hardcore music.

Glad the "good old days" are over and made way for some decent downloads.

Femme is actually french for "wife" or in some phrases just woman (like in "femme fatale")

How the LGBTVSX or whatever crowd later used it colloquially, is irrelevant.

We love how you try to have a crack at oldies, when u are hardly the youngest here, and as usual you display your ignorance and irrelevance in attempting to have a go at others.

Nice try.

Most annoying in the very near future, ACDC with Axel Rose as their lead singer.

Agree. They replaced a singer that can't hear with a singer that can't sing.

Yep 7 year old song does it for me and i want to smash my car radio when it comes on. Its at the top of my all time worst songs. If you have no talent just put in some controversial lyrics and that generally gets the punters to buy it.

I just listen to the ABC radio. Got everything you want great sports coverage (such as the AFL and cricket in summer), talk back and news.
When I feel like music though you can't go past triple j

Ive gone over to cds or playlists. Last time i listened to the radio on the two minute drive to work i went through six stations of idiots laughing at their own jokes which werent jokes, just jokes imported from china, looked like a joke from the outside but was actually just junk wrapped in plastic, and not one song playing. Think i switched to the seventh station that had an add for some junk imported from china and then turned the junk off and enjoyed the dulcet tones of my dead boring ford territory and marvelled at how it had done 297 thousand km which was far more interesting than the junk on the radio. Fortunately there is plenty of good new music, just rarely played on triple j and hardly ever played on radio. Long live albums, local artists and you tube.
