Leaving my board on the roof racks all day?

New to sups and loving it. My problem is that, with winter approaching and therefore less daylight hours, I am struggling to get a sup in before or after work. If I take my sup to work, I can grab a paddle straight after work, before I head home. Trouble is, this means leaving the sup on the roof racks all day. I have a Naish Glide board and bag. I can park in some partial shade, but the board will still get a lot of sun during the day. I have read that this can really damage the board. So, leave the sup at home and not get a paddle, or take the board to work and risk the damage?

I've got a Naish board thats seen 2 whole summers on the roof (I'm in WA and park in direct sun at work) with no damage. 2 board covers have perished though.

Sup???? ah yeah........... to protect it better give it 2 coats of pink Dulux exterior paint..... apply with a coarse paint brush, add a few yellow round stickers for perfect protection......

The naish generally have a stainless screw, remove this to prevent delaminating , but don't forget to put back in before you hit the water

If it is a secure carpark you could remove it from the roof and put it under your car, shade all day. Just don't forget it when you finish work

I'd be worried about someone flogging it.
Oh wait a SUP, never mind.
Maybe a good board bag could do.
But even the winter sun can get hot over the day.
