Mate theres a video of her climbing up rungs of a tower in china and its real... Very real ive scaled more then my fair share of crane towers shes not harnesses in anywhere its very ballsy. Check rest her photos youll see.

Most the kids in russia and ukraine are doing this. Theyre surrounded by death so it doesnt bother them. Ill find a link to rogan interviewing a english lad and they talk about a dzieci smieci called uppercut? Tomahawk? Hatchet? Some gangsta name like that. When hes not climbing hanging off cranes hes in those big organised brawls

This has essentially been a national sport for them for a decade now

Any rock climber can do that but very very few can do it with someone else next to you. Your mind tells you to push them off so they cant push you off

Heres a clip wrong dude but theyre talking bout the same stuff

www.instagram.com/p/BhjZvSbHsb9/ heres a harness line clearly visable probably due to a paid sponsor aaaaand heres my future wife without any securation www.instagram.com/p/Bfv2WaVDVwR/

I made it to about 20 minutes but the subplot was too difficult to follow. I think the book was better.

What's the big deal about climbing any of these structures, why does everyone think it's so hard, special, or daredevil? Don't they know that dozens of ordinary folk were climbing all over them when they were being built? It's not like it's going to fall over. Crossing the road was the most dangerous part of that video.

A lot more people die from falling off 6 ft step ladders at home...that's a real risk activity.

Harrow when i climb a crane i clip in and do so from the inside of the ladder and when i get to the top i dont hang off it and start doing pull ups and hand stands. Theres a good podcast where one these dudes is talking about how in the mornings the steels covered in moisture and dew etc makes painted steel particularly slippery. Id say there a pretty high deathtoll at moment. but everyones slowly learning

Nutwall ill post everything but myself on social media.

I must be a little older than you, in my day there wasn't anything to clip into until you reached the top. Climbing to the top of 330kV transmission towers each day, just hanging onto the 6-inch bolts that protruded from the outside corner of the tower leg, and yes they were always wet and cold in winter. The wind off the Illawarra escarpment or on the tablelands didn't help.

I guess it was a bit crazy what we did back then compared to how things are done now.

Had a job getting anemometers and thermometers wired up and working on a 30 metre tower back in the days before OH&S. We used to clip in once at the top, but not on the way up. No ladder, it was all triangles. Size 10 boot triangles near the top. . Was OK until I lost my nerve. Then you'd have to keep telling yourself that hanging onto a rung required much less skill than hanging onto a steering wheel at 100kph. Our instinctive fears have not yet evolved to include going fast in a motor car.

Most recreation rock climbers use protection don't they? Even if it's much more difficult, it's not the same.

Love climbing, out of shape and not climbing for the last few years ......but ....come on these nutters are next level, that's not just a ladder, yes when on form you do the finger hang dynamic, mostly with a rope and harness and a fair bit of safety kit or bouldering mats but this.....this....??? It's the exposure.

Also having been to Shanghai I would not consider it a place to break in to a building and climb its antenna, the coppers there would just lock you up and throw away the key... off to some gulag or re education camp bye bye never seen again, might be better off falling 200 stories in a blaze of glory !
