My old Hiace is dribbling on the steering wheel when it rains. How do you fix this? Get Windscreens O'Brien to come and pop the screen and put in a new rubber? Or are there other strategies?

Run some fish oil into the area where it is leaking. I use a fine paint brush to drip it into the spots needed. Not only will this stop the leak, but it will stop the deadly rust. Make sure you put some towels inside the car in case it drips inside at all.

Takes a few days for the fish oil to dry and harden, and may need a few applications to work properly. You'll then need to reapply about once a year, but it's a 5 minute job and usually a single annual reapplication is all you need to keep it working well.

Reckon fish oil will fix this...?

Silicone and duct tape will.

what insurance does the ute have? free windscreen replacement?
you wont get cover if you get screen replaced 'cause it leaks', but if a brick or large stone or even someones head goes through the windscreen then you can claim and succeed in free replacement.

A screen place I know of has a yard out the back and assorted supply of bricks, poles, even remains of a kangaroo, where you can do decent job yourself then talk to them out the front about insurance claim.
