So I was watching "The Big Lebowski" last night and I thought to myself... The Dude looks comfortable, I wonder what people would think if I started wearing my pyjamas out, but I don't wear bathrobes so I'd just have my shorts and a t-shirt...

BAM! It hit me, I just realised I wear my pyjamas out for around 7 months of the year! And I want to move somewhere warmer (than Sydney) so I can wear them 12 months a year.



To confirm the realisation I look like a bum; I have same length hair as The Dude and I haven't shaved in around 2 months

Interestingly enough, when i lived in the US it was not uncommon to see people doing their grocery shopping in their PJ's and some of them are visions that the eyes can't un-see. In fact i felt out of place some times wearing normal clothes.

Maybe there is a market for super comfortable clothes that are both fashionable and also serve as Pj's. I'm sick of shorts that are too loose or too tight and wouldn't mind a simple sarong or robe like garment like many asian and Polynesian people wear.
It's funny you can pop into the shop wearing Pj's but not in anything other than that we consider to be conventional western clothes.(if you don't want strange looks.}

The crazy arabs do have some good points.... Kaftans light to wear, no belts or tight fitting parts, the personal tackle can hang loose...what more could you ask for.
Most on ebay are for eastern asains but start digging and theres some nice gear. Used to have a couple myself years ago until I realised the wife looked and felt better in them than I did.

Workcover arranged light duties for me to do with a host, as the host was not paying me the relationship became rather relaxed. i did get some strange remarks from the bricklayers onsite (the pjs are pink they once belonged to my wife). i now work on a high rise and need my job so no more pjs but when i stop caring they will come back out, so worm so comfortable. The only disadvantage is picking the plaster out of them.

Mine only wear out if I go really fast.

It started about 15 years ago here in the U.S. kids everywhere start wearing their PJ (pants only) everywhere, including school, followed by some of their parents, mothers mostly.
Finally it's starting to die out, but I will still see some woman or another shopping wearing PJ bottoms, with a normal daytime top, along with Ugg boots, and hair that hasn't been brushed.
Quite the fashion statement still hanging on here in California.

I see it all the time were i live women shopping at woolies late at night looks like they have showered got into pajamas probably got kids down ducked up shops for a few supplies while kids are settled .
Im usually doing the same but im wereing shorts &shirt .
Which I got for xmas& dressed in to go out next day only to get told im an idiot get changed there pajamas I said ."They look like shorts &t shirt how am I supposed to tell the difference.?"

While on holiday in Bali about 5 years ago there was a family group of wealthy looking Chinese. In the afternoon they would turn up to the pool/restaurant area to play Mah-jong, and the 3 men would be wearing very nice stylish pyjamas.
But well fitting and well made, though obviously pyjamas!
I laughed my head off the first time I saw them, but God they looked comfortable and relaxed.
5 years later I still tease the wife and kids telling them I want some " Afternoon Pyjamas"
They think I'm kidding, but one day... Boo Yeah
