At least they are silent. The new Chinese ones "supposedly" last over an hour, range of 24km and top speed of 40km/h.

Once you are on an open swell or wave you wouldn't even need the motor.

China will mass produce these soon enough for $600-$1000 (unlike that $200 scam in the other post about E-foils.) Will it be the next "Explosive Hoverboard thingy"

www.alibaba.com/product-detail/2018-new-product-Ejack-carbon-fiber_60754245606.html?spm=a2700.galleryofferlist.normalList.277.688324ebHxUTJi

Nothing like explosive and burning Lithium juice all over you in the middle of the ocean.

Or will they require registration, Skippers ticket, a life jacket, Epirb, Flares...

or be immediately banned, after slicing dolphins and children in half?

Or you could just build your own. efoil.builders/categories

It is inevitable. Mass produced commercially available and affordable electric foils ARE COMING!

You want a nice long point break like Snapper to Greenmount then to Kirra. Once you are on the wave no need for "a battery style assault".

You could probably get about 20 waves out of a charge. Then just swap out the 18650's you got on Ozbargain for another few goes.

Just think of the thousands of happy locals and tourists enjoying and sharing 1.5km waves together.

So much carving and spraying (blood mainly). There would be no animosity towards each other.

The fish would be fed from little johnny slipping into the lineup and the resulting Sharks would be culled by foils.

Regardless. It's gonna happen.

But I do think they will get HEAVILY regulated, banned from certain areas.

Fine on a Windsurfer, Kiteboard, SUP or small yacht, but once you add the POWA!

Maybe a battery boost is what we need to leave the breaks. If the Specs are right you could travel from Rottnest to the mainland on 1 charge in glass. Or wait for the seabreeze and barely use the battery.

We will see...

You would be buggered if it broke down on you a long way from home especially if you are out on the open water

Miami?

A lot of people apparently. I agree. They are mad.

Where does all their piss and poo go? It will rise the sea level.

Especially if they end up with 100's carving around on E-foils to get to the casino on bingo night.

Which is why you will be forced to have a Registration, License, life jacket, flares, EPIRB, UHF and VHF radio, Satellite phone, First Aid kit, 2 days supply of food and water and a waterproof solar panel recharge station.

To be honest, the same can happen with a Windsurfer, Kiter, SUP, Jet ski, boat, canoe, kayak, boogie board, inflatable bed, floaties, etc.

Common sense needs to come into it.

It does look like fun for a few hours. These things are gonna end up everywhere if they aren't regulated.

I'm on the fence... I can just see 12 year old kids zooming around on these things everywhere in the future.

You reckon? The drongos who ride jet skis can barely cope with sitting on the things, I don't think they're going to go through the effort of learning to foil...

I have visions of many people commuting, drybag in a backpack, 20km down the Parramatta River from Rydalmere to those strange stairs under the Sydney Harbour Bridge at Dawes Point. Will there be a service centre at Circular Quay?

Will the eFoil be a reality?

Kudos to the calming music, the type of tunes I chill to when stuff is going right outdoors.

Wow, I knew Miami was a candidate for reclamation by nature (as is most of Florida) but that drone footage really highlighted just how low it is.
A little bit of sea-level rise and it will be a new Atlantis. Things always happen quicker than you think. This is the 2008 Olympic BMX track finish line 10 years later.

But those eFoils do look cool. When I was staying at Halls Head it was a 10-11 Km round trip to the Marine Chandlery by car but only about 150m by water though you wouldn't want to swim channel given the bite'ies and the boat traffic.

Don't the freestyle guys still use them? That's actually fun to watch, but mostly it's just retards going fast in a straight line buzzing the swimmers riding their unsinkable armchairs.

We actually have a number of deaths annually on the lake here -- imagine a road that's 10 to 20 km wide and these halfwits still manage to run into each other at full speed.
