I'm not one to complain about a nice run of northerlies but I can't help but notice that's about 10 degrees above the average temp for this time of year... Hectic... Anyone got any reasonable comments that don't belong in heavy weather?

Averages are for a very specific and narrow purpose.

I wouldn't wade across a river knowing only that it had an average depth of 3 feet.
