The first event of the ASP world tour kicks off next week at Burleigh with an added twist - a speed trial. Competitors in the Quicksilver Pro are hiding GPS systems in their rashies to measure their speed during heats. The fastest surfer walks away with $2500 - so if you see Kelly take off and gun it down the line, you know he's just after some beer money.
