The 2010 Hart Cup Classic Manly to Mooloolaba Yacht Race is back on the Easter racing program providing the opportunity for Brisbane and Mooloolaba yachts to enjoy a short, competitive race north to Mooloolaba.
The classic race, which has been revived after a two-year hiatus, is a perfect event for monohull and multihull boat owners wanting to get out on the ocean over Easter. Hosted by Manly Wynnum Yacht Club, the Easter Friday 60 nautical mile race from Moreton Bay to Mooloolaba is a great way to finish the summer racing season. Off the start line at 9am on Friday, the fleet race out of Moreton Bay ahead of the Brisbane to Gladstone fleet, before turning left at the Mooloolaba heads and into safe anchorage.
On arrival the fleet will be hosted by Mooloolaba Yacht Club. Then on Saturday all boats will be welcome to compete in a relaxed, friendly rivalry Jim Craddock Memorial Regatta off Mooloolaba Beach before heading back to The Wharf Tavern for the obligatory party.
Sunday will see both the Manly Wynnum and Mooloolaba Yacht Club fleets out early for a combined race start heading south to Caloundra. While the Brisbane boats continue south, the Mooloolaba boats will turn right and battle each other on the way back home to Mooloolaba.
Entries close on Friday 26 March. For more information on the race -
