The Queensland State Match Racing Championships kicks off this weekend at Southport Yacht Club with a field of fresh match racing faces ready for battle. With eight teams entering the championships, most participating in their first match racing event, competition will be hot. Leading the field is 2009 ISAF Youth World Championship representative Curtis Skinner, making a transition into match racing. However, Skinner won't have things all his way, with stiff opposition offered in the form of local sailors Jessica Hansen, Joel Turner and Jack Sherring. Hansen has recently being participating in the Ocean Mentor program hosted by Southport Yacht
