The morning of Day Six of the Club Marine Series on Melbourne's Port Phillip was all about splashing around for the kids in the Optimists.

Out on the track it took a while for any real breeze to settle in. Race Officer David Leroy set a course of 175degrees having waited for the very light and shifty Northerlies to be replaced by a consistent Southerly that just made six knots, but spent more time under five.

The postponed start at 1200hrs gave the crews some time for rig checks and a little fun too. Over the finish line, the order was Cougar II, then Scarlet Runner and Goldfinger for third.

As we get set for the afternoon the course is now 170 degrees and the breeze still at six knots.

It is a warm and lovely day, so it should be a treat for all. The Optimists will be about the only things moving with any energy until the breeze kicks in a little more.
