Hobart sailors are brave souls when it comes to winter racing on the River Derwent. Despite light snow falling on Mount Wellington and a chilly 14-15 knot nor-wester cutting the on-the-water temperature to about 3-4 degrees, a fleet of 38 yachts turned out for today's Derwent Sailing Squadron Boat Sales Tasmanian Winter Series. The saving grace was a morning of brilliant sunshine and a steady sailing breeze that produced close racing in all three divisions, both in fleet and corrected time results.
