Many countries benefitted from the generosity of Sir Thomas Lipton with his generous donation of many Lipton Cups, designed to encourage sailing, and many of which are still sailed today. Leading international sailing journalist, Bob Fisher explains what is behind the Sir Thomas Lipton Foundation and its objectives: Think of just two things. First, think back to the time when you got your biggest thrill from sailing. Maybe it was taking a boat out on your own for the first time.
